I dinged the door of another Corvette!
Yesterday I had an appointment with my accountant. My father had the appointment after mine. We both drive Corvettes. He parked a little close to my car and when I opened my door I took a big chip out of his Monterey Red paint. I was in a hurry an not thinking. It's a good thing we're not obsessive about our cars.

You definitely should have been more careful. (for your car and your father's)
Also, you father should know better than to park close enough to your car that you could even hit it if you were trying.

I for one, applaud your attitude about it...
Stuff happens... it is just a car. A valet in Vegas put a scratch in one of my rocker panels... I was mad for a moment but then... Stuff happens. I will probably get the panel repaired but the fact that it happened didn't make me hate driving the car.
I get a little worked up when I read the "OH NO.. I got rain on my 5 year old car that has 265 miles on it" posts but I smiled when I read yours. Like me, you certainly would have preferred that it not have happened, but... it isn't something to go into a crisis over.
Enjoy the car people.. don't obsess about it.

Thank you. That's my attitude (and my fathers). In fact, I didn't even tell him about it because I know he doesn't care and it just doesn't matter much. I'm sure his detailer will touch it up. He has his car detailed at work once a week.

Your father has his Corvette detailed once a week and you say he's NOT obsessive????? What part of obsessive don't you understand? GOOD LUCK with the grounding. Have fun with the time off.

I'd have told him for sure. Nothing to get worked up about unless it's a show car, but then, you don't really drive show cars.
If he gets it detailed every week, that sounds like he does care about a chip. Maybe it's just a scuff and not a chip.
A good thing is that you don't see it when you drive, so yay!
