This is hilarious...if this was someone who had this happen to them, everyone here would be screaming about the low-life bastards who have no respect for anything.

Just goes to show you all that manure occurs.

Since I don't have anything positive to say, I just won't say it.

He only has it detailed because he's too lazy to wash it himself. A guy comes to his office and details it in the parking lot for $30 a week.

$1,500 a year to have your Corvette detailed once a week sounds good to me. Where do I get in line? Does the detailer recieve a tip at Christmas?

In the end, it's a car!! Nothing more, Nothing less. I'm sure life will go on after you pick yourself up from being "Knocked the hell out"!!! Just Kidding.

You absolutely should tell him though so that he doesn't think some inconsiderate bozo did it!

Can't believe you're not gonna tell your Dad. I would leave a note for a complete stranger and pay to have repaired, why? Cuz it's the right thing to do.

Do the honorable thing and have it repaired for him to the best of your abilty. That way, in your heart, you've done the right thing. In his heart, he'll know you did the right thing.

And the note would say:

I just knocked a chip out of your door. And the people in the parking lot that saw it happen think that I am writing a note to disclose my contact information. They would be wrong.

We probably all respect our respective fathers. But, none of us wants to get whupped at 45.

Man, I really know how to push everyone's buttons. You guys are too easy and very predictable. It's just a car. I'll be sure not to tell any dark family secrets on a public forum in the future; I don't want this to come back and haunt me. My father is going to laugh at many of the responses when I show him this thread. I'll repaint his entire car if he wants me to but he'll just shrug and say "It's just a car".

Sorry to hear this, I really hate when I do things like that.

For all those who are pointing a finger (index that is) at you, they need to remember there are 3 of their fingers pointing back at them.

Or "people who live in glass houses....", you know what I mean.

We all get in a hurry, routine, then forget the somewhat little things.

If you're like me you're still kicking yourself. Let that end, you appoligized, it'll be fixed and life will still go on.

JUST ENJOY THE RIDE ! !

I'm sure his detailer will touch it up.
He has his car detailed at work once a week.
I think because you damaged your Dads vette you should be the one to pay to have it repaired.
Or at least pay for the full detail.

Well be thankful it was your father's car and not another forum member.
Bad enough dealing with unavoidable everyday chips from the road, yours was totally avoidable.
Punisment............................... CASTRATION
