Positive Battery Cable
I cleaned up the corrosion deposits on the positive connection at the battery on my 08 c6 coupe. The connector has a hole from corrosioin of the copper. It still works and I installed a felt washer and coated the connection in silicone grease. Does anyone know if you can buy just the copper connector or do you need to purchase the complete cable from GM?

Once you buy a new connector, take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.
Scrub the battery terminal and cable with a solution of baking soda and water. This will neutralize the acid. Wipe with a clean rag and let dry.
After it dries, reconnect it to the battery and spray the battery post with white lithium grease. This will prevent moisture in the air from oxidizing the lead battery post and connector.

I suggest you replace the battery. It is most likely gasing out at the
post where it does not have a proper seal. I searched the web last year on this problem and that is what I found. The reason for that was my wife's Lexus had the same issue including having the battery clamp eaten thru. The dealer replaced both the battery and the battery cable under warranty, no charge.

Agree about battery. It sometimes cranks slow and I have cleaned it a couple times with baking soda and corrosion continues. Any battery suggestions?

Staunch believer in Oddesey (Sears Platnium), 5 years full replacement warrenty, sealed, glass mat technology, holds a charge like nothing else. Sears serviced just about anywhere you may need the battery "serviced". Not cheap, $170 - $190 but there are fewer better places you can choose to spend your money. The C6's as you know are consumers of power even while sitting in the garage, and is there anything in this world that can be more of a pain than a car that will not start?

So many battery threads, so little time. 
If you regularly use a good battery maintainer (like a CTEK), it almost doesn't matter which replacement battery you use... the maintainer will keep it well-charged. Then you can shop for the cheapest battery that fits.
Some folks shop for the best price at Costco, Walmart, etc.
Some folks, like me, have gotten great service from the OEM Delco battery.
Some folks love Optima batteries... red or yellow, depending on your needs. IMO this gives extra peace-of-mind -- at a price.
Some folks will only buy a Sears battery... in my mind, they have a deserved reputation for great service & warranty, and IIRC their Platinum series is highly rated.

But that Odyssey weighs 49 lbs and costs $258... 12.5 lbs and $50 more than an Optima.
Bottom Line: Decide what YOU need and how much you're willing to spend. And for peace-of-mind & max battery life, regularly use a good battery maintainer -- especially if your C6 is driven infrequently and/or mostly short distances.

When it comes to tires and batteries I simply choose to go with what I think is the very best. The operative words being - "I" and "choose". Getting stranded for the failure of either of the commodities is something I try very hard to avioid.
In selecting a Vette, if I had thought the most expensive was the "best" I would have choosen a ZO-6, ZR-1 vs. the base; so I well understand cost comparisons may or may not always apply. No offense to you ZO-6, ZR-1 folks.
