Default Grand Sport F55 Question

Is the F55 option on the Grand Sport the same suspension as the F55 option on the base corvette or are the springs and sway bars still like the Z51?

If I understand your question, the GS version is more of a combo of Z51 AND F55. Don't forget that the tires are wider also, which will effect the ride.

Yes the ride is what I'm getting at. If they still use the Z51 sway bars and Z51 spring with the F55 option, then you still get the Z51 ride. Does anyone know for sure. Thanks.

Finally found a thread that says the Grand Sport gets you the Z51 suspension and the F55 gets you the magnetic shocks. That answers my question. Thanks.

AFAIK, the GS with F55 has the normal GS suspension, similar to the old Z51, but of course with the magnetic shocks.

We have a 2011 GS Automatic Coupe on order. There is this new GMConnects program that lets you be kept up to date with everything that happens in the building process. They send me an e mail with all updates. Its a great system, long overdue. I guess I am a little confused here. When the 2010 GS came out I understood that the Z51 was over. The GS had its own similar suspension. You could no longer order the stand alone Z51. This Corvette also has the F55 Magnetic Ride system. The F55 was only available on the GS starting in 11. In looking at one of these updates that got e mailed to me it says, GMConnects, Your Order, and then Misc Details. Under the details it says Z51 Perf pkg. The Z16 is the GS Perf Pkg. So, I guess the Z51 is still alive, its just only available on the GS. I have had Z51 before and driven a 10 GS. But, I just wonder what the Z51, the Z16, and the Magnetic ride will actually ride like.

F55 on the GS is significantly stiffer than F55 on previous years.

i think that it feels that way because it has the bigger swaybars and wider tires. i do not think that the programming is different.

I have a 2013 GS with F55 suspension and Z51 handling package and it does NOT have magnetic shocks.
