Default Well, my turn today - no front plate ticket

Yep, just a quick drive before game time this morning. Passed one of Maryland's finest, look in my rear view and see brake lights and a quick U-turn. He was on me like flies on manure. Knew what it was for, since I wasn't speeding or anything. "I know all about Corvettes" and "you can't tell me anything I've not heard before" he says.
$70 in Maryland FYI

The price of looking good, I am sure you are aware of the Front Plate options offered by the CF Vendors. Decision time for you. for me no ticket yet and hopefully I will not have to make the decision. Although I would lean towards paying the fine and the hell with it, still motor on with no front plate.

So sorry.

I've been lucky for the last 5 years without the front plate, but am probably living on borrowed time.

I have felt your pain. The state revenue generators.. er troopers here in MN are all over the no front plate issue. Seems the local and county officers could care less.

I bought the removable set up and will install it as a last resort or when driving down the highway. Where I live I don't think city police will bother with it at all, but the NE State patrol will as I dealt with that 10 years ago with my last Vette. I will go as long as I can without doing anything or until I get tired of paying tickets. Then I will only put it on when doing out of town road trips then back off the rest of the time.

Stupid law that needs to go away in every state anyway.

Free enterprise, dude!

I feel ya, I got ticketed by a State Patrol LEO not long after I bought mine. Still no plate on the front. My ticket was $70 also.

I got stopped the day I bought my C5. Gave me a warning. I told him I had just bought the car and he laughed and said "sure you did". Then, in lieu of registration, I showed him the BOS and the temp registration slip, he let me go.

Never ran one on the C6 and never got stopped - all the above in Northern VA. No requirement now in NC

Typical nanny state government...Ticket a citizen for an itsy bitsy infraction but turn a blind eye to illegals driving with no license and no insurance.

Just put the Plate on. Really not that big a deal, once on it will be forgotten soon enough and no more pull overs.

I fear we will be seeing more and more of these posts. This is a cheap way for municipalities to capture some of the lost revenue from decreased taxes due lost jobs and lower property taxes.

The old saying "if you want to play you have to pay" is more applicable to this age old annoyance than ever.

I agree. I don't see it when I'm driving anyway.
The rear one really bothers me, though.

I was let off with a warning by the locals for no front plate,Nice officer could have ticketed me so I listened to his story of a week prior. He pulled over a late model Ferrari and gave him a week to get a front plate installed BTW I got pulled over 2 weeks ago for tinted windows. They have been tinted for 3 years no issues. Cities need revenue I guess.

It all comes down to the IQ of the officer. If he stops you and sees that you are not illegal and respectable, he can see that there is no reason to take it further. Otherwise he's either an overzealous rookie, a dumba%& or just a richard cranium.
