My 3rd No Front Plate Fix It Ticket
It was a full vehicle stop and check i on my way to work this AM. The officers where pulling over any vehicle that had a infraction. That being said- I am now ready to fix my front plate on my 2005 for good ( the ticket reads my car year as 2007 but whats a couple of vette years really ?)
Is there any suggestions to putting on the plate? I told the officer I thought the plate looked ugly on the Corvette- he said just put it off to the side...

Check some of the parts/accessories vendors from this site. I have seen several that carry a model that mounts under the fron -end and are remotely controlled meaning they are hidden when you want underneath and visible when you want. I am sure some others will chime in and may know the vendors. Their names escape me at the moment.

I have the 'Show and Go' remote control plate mentioned above. The cops around here don't issue warnings; just tickets, so it's either this or a permanent front plate. The manufacturer's Web site has a video of it in action. Shop around, I found one for $129 on ebay.
It seems flimsy but it works well with occasional lubrication. You might have trouble on a DD since the cable and pulley mechanism is exposed to the elements. I can't say for sure. My car never sees rain or snow so that's not an issue here.

Yeah , the Top Flight one looks the best of the permanent type mounts, but it still makes the vette look like bugs bunny.
I go without, but if I were to get a mount, I'd get the motorized one, and put it off to the side.

Strange. I've had one Corvette or another since 1971, and lived in Whittier, and then in Orange County - both of which are not more than 20 to 30 miles from Tarzana. I've never ever had a front plate, and was never stopped JUST for no front license, and even when I was stopped, they never cited me for that. Did you offer them any jelly donuts? Was this the Tarzana CITY P.D., or was it the Calif. Highway Patrol? Whichever, they need to focus on more dire circumstances.

Like you I live in Southern California and haven't run a front plate on my C6 and before that a C3. I have not been stopped and either have most other Corvette drivers. It's rare to see a Corvette with a front plate. I think most LEO understand. When I get my first ticket I plan on using the Top Flight frame.
