I'm trying to decide between the 1/4" and the 3/8". I autocross my car a few times a year and run the occasional track day. I'd love it if the plate would get rid of the roof creak and stiffen the whole thing up a bit. I already have a BK Harness Bar which has helped a bit. I know the 1/4" has extra thermal shielding, but I'm about to insulate the entire inside of the car for a stereo install, so it probably wouldn't matter much.

Is there any downside to going with the 3/8 plate?

The only downside to the 3/8" plate if any is the fact that it weighs a little more. It IS beefy!

I'm sorry, at this time it's only the ALTA-250 1/4" Ceramic Coated Plate with the Thermal Overlay. Same heat reduction as the 3/8" thick plate.
