That show makes me want to buy what ever car they are testing. Especially tonight's show I think Tommy Kendall would be a good fit on Top Gear USA.
Even my wife asked "when are we going to the Corvette museum to get a new Corvette?"
Looks like I'll need to come up with $70,000 or so to get what I want. Are there any deals on a Grand Sport with museum delivery? Or are the only discounts for what dealers have in stock?
BTW- does anyone here want to buy my IS350 and the '68?

Sorry guys! I love Corvettes but that just seemed like useless information. They never really evaluated the cars, instead stroking Corvette egos. I'm not sure I understand the purpose of the show, other than free commercial time for Chevrolet.

With the way Corvette sales are going, GM can use that "free commercial time."

I drove thru downtown Charlotte yesterday afternoon in my '09 C6 coupe on the same streets shown in a portion of the show last night. The wife commented "not much different than our spirited drive today". Of course with the temps in the low thirties we didn't have the roof off. I suspect they drove with the side windows up in the show so you could better hear the drivers comments which would have otherwise been drowned out by wind noise. Nice advertisement for Corvettes, but hardly informative.

that is really all that program is, he has driven BMW, Lexus, Mustangs, Genesis, etc and it is one long hyped lovefest for whatever car they have that episode.

pretty good show for sure.
anyone interested in the C6 isnt going from point "A" to point "B" guys, so who give s a crap about all the ergo babble, gas consumption, comfort, bling and other non essentials.?
Lots of people dont realize the vette is a world class GT/sports car. So its good to inform that the vette has morphed out of the old days.

You should also try to dig up the BMW episode, that was awesome. At one point Hans Schtuck was doing like 180 on the autobahn and locked the brakes as he approached traffic- all while casually looking at the camera and and talking.

Missed opportunity
I was looking forward to this show but was very disappointed in the content. They had the 2011 Z06 w the Z07 package but no Carbon Edition. Tommy Kendall was quoting Z06 weight from 2006 (3130 lbs) and they didn't do any tech talk on either the C6R or any of the vettes (other then the known high level stuff). Even if this was free to GM, which I highly doubt, they missed the boat.

Tell your wife "As soon as you want".
Yes there are deals for museum delivery. Forum dealers (listed on the left are a great place). I highly recommend Tim at Boardwalk Chevrolet. I had a local dealer down to about $1k over invoice but it would take "about 3 months". It took 6 weeks with Tim and it was cheaper.
No on the IS350, '68 maybe someday. I would like a 68 someday because that was the year my wife and I was born, but not at this time since my daughter graduates from HS in 2012.

I loved the show. Johnson's spin was amazing, I wonder if it was an act or he really did lose it.
Kendall is a real good driver. It is sad about the accident at the Glen about 2 decades ago. NASCAR lost a driver in the same turn I think about 1 month before Kendall's crash.
