I know the difference in the models and packages. My question is, would most people prefer a base model with the 3lt group or the GS with the 1lt group, if money was an issue?

I didn't do all the exact math on it yet, so I would just like your opinion on the 2 options if you were faced with that choice.

Also, what options are a must have? Please help. I haven't much time. Been up all night working. Hope to wake up to some answers and a new car.

Maybe I should ad I'm looking at 2011.
It all depends on what options are important to you, remember if you want the head-up and all the memory features (seats, steering wheel, preferences, etc.), you'll need to go with the 3LT, those aren't available on 1LT or 2LT. Also, the GS runs about $5k more, but if you want the extra hardware, it's a great deal, it's all probably worth closer to $10k, figuring the bigger wheels/tires/brakes, wider body, hood, and suspension bits, then you get into the 3LT and such all over again. I decided on a manual GS, 3LT,NPP, NAV, PAL, Comp Gray wheels, and Full Width Spoiler and I think I made the right decision. I love the car, and I get guys doing u-turns to check it out.

I ended up with the Grand Sport and the 3LT package. Also came with GS Heritage package, Chrome aluminum wheels, Automatic tranny with paddle shift, Dual-mode performance exhaust and 6 disc cd player.

White with red leather. Stupid fast to me.

MSRP was 65,975.00. I gave 54,500.00. I'm happy with it. Please don't ruin it and say I over paid.

Told you SO ! ! !

Congrats!!!!

Congrats, great choice! By the way, I forgot I got the Heritage Pkg too, mine's Cyber Gray, Comp Gray wheels, interior Ebony with Red inserts, and no, you didn't over pay, I'd say you got a pretty good deal. Mine's a manual, but you'll love the car, it's great, enjoy!

Some people are thinking this is a 2010. It's a 2011. I guess I did even better.

Is it right to feel giddy about this car? I went to the Casino and they valeted it in the front row. I can't keep my foot out of it. I'll post picture soon. It's a beauty.

And I know what these cars go for. To get 13% off the MSRP of a 2011 is a great deal, but to get 17.39% off the MSRP of a 2011 is kind of unbelievable, that's a great price for a 2010. The 2010's get a $3,000 incentive from G.M., 2011's don't.

OP, "MSRP was 65,975.00. I gave 54,500.00." That's an $11,475 difference, or 17.39%. Now if that were a 2010, the difference would be $8.475 or 12.85% of MSRP + the $3,000 G.M. incentive, to total $11,475, that would make sense.

Is G.M. giving $3,000 incentives on 2011's now?

Overpaid? Are you kidding? Invoice on the car is $59,817. How did you manage to get it for $5300 UNDER invoice? I'd really like to know - if I could get a deal like that on a 2011 I'd be very tempted to make a move myself.

I'm looking at my paper work. It says cash price $55,699. Manufacturer's rebate $1000. Equals $54,699. So, I was off a couple dollars in my earlier statement.

I don't know how I got that price. It was already marked down to $55,699 when I got there. All their Vettes were. I saw them on the internet while I was looking for a Camaro. They are my local dealer. I didn't think I could afford a Vette. Still not sure I can.

I post their website, but don't know if that is proper.

$65,975 - $55,699 = $10,276, that's still 15.576% from the dealer off the MSRP of a 2011. That's one hell of a deal!

I would get the coupe with the 3 LT package but then i am not a fan of the GS. I was lucky i guess, i bought our 09 3 LT Z 51 coupe Oct 1st of 09 for 11 grand below sticker price and am very pleased with the car. Had a 2004 C 5 1LT and was never really pleased with the car without all the options that the 3 LT package offers.

It pays to read the thread before replying. As the OP stated, he just took delivery of a 2011 3LT Grand Sport.

the op asked what most people prefered base with 3lt or gs with 1lt and i was giving him my opinion regardless of what he bought, makes no difference one way or the other to me what he buys.

Maybe you guys could help me with this. My car didn't have the fender hash marks on it even though I like them. Part of the deal was, the dealer would add them, but they said they wouldn't be GM.

I was ill prepared and giddy at purchase. The car came with the heritage package that says fender stripes installed by dealer. Shouldn't they have them from GM?

I'm not complaining about my deal. I'm quite happy. I'm just curious about the stripes. I think they should have already been included/paid for.

What do you think?

The Heritage Package includes factory stripes (two per side) that are shipped with the car but not applied unless the buyer asks the selling dealer to do so. In your case it sounds as though the dealer did something else with the stripes that were shipped with your car (i.e. applied them to another car); as such, they're not available to apply to your car.

Where you go from here largely depends upon what you and the dealer agreed to in writing when you wrote the deal. If you have nothing in writing assuring you of factory stripes, you're not likely to get them. Having said that, no way would I allow non-factory stripes to be applied to a brand new GS. If you like the stripes and if the dealer won't give you factory ones, my suggestion is to buy a set from Gene Culley and have them applied by the dealer.

I understand everything you are saying. I also don't want non factory stripes even if I have to pay for them. I know the deal I made and will live with it happily. But I will inquire about the stripes that were supposed to come with it. I think that us far.

I will not let non factory stripes be applied after reading your post, thank you.
