Default Driveways and chin spoilers

Is there anyone in the vicinity of Cheshire Connecticut with a C6 that would be willing to see if it will make it into my driveway?

Thanks

you know, there's a reason GM makes these things (chin spoilers) out of rubber. mine seem to get beat-up for no reason at all...

My wife cringes every time i scrape something. I tell her when we actually have to stop and pick up pieces then we hit it too hard. She already knows how much they cost to replace. (NOT THAT MUCH) But she still cringes. Drive on!!!

If you can, enter/exit driveways at a 45 degree angle. Doing so generally provides a bit more clearance and reduces scraping.

Actually, I didn't get the 45 degree angle thing when I read it here before I got the car....basically what happens is that one of the front wheels starts climbing the driveway before the air dam gets there...it's great advise and works many places.

This is not a specious thing, and some of us are not willing to sell our houses (my hilltop house has views of nearly the entire windward side of Oahu and on clear days I can see Molokai, Maui, and Lanai) for a car that won't make it up the driveway, and have driveways for which the 45 degree approach does not work.

Prior to seriously shopping for my C6 I had a freind with a lowered C6 come by and he could not make it up my driveway. The prospective car I did buy is and was not lowered and can make it up and down, heavily scraping the plastic flexible air dam each way. I have replaced the air dam about once a year so far, a small price to pay.

Many thanks to Beezevette for the drive by today. Brand new Shiny red vette with only 1000 Miles on it!

Yeah it would have scraped. Not much, and maybe we could have found a way but not with just 100 miles on the odometer.

And thanks to the rest of you that offered.

So, the question is what happens if you shave 1/2" off the spoiler?

Sure they scrape on MOST driveways, that's why they are rubber !

I have to back into my driveway other wise I would take the nose off. The curbs in my neighborhood are so high it's unbelievable. My sister drags the front end of her PT Cruiser and that car is not low at all. I'm thinking about curb ramps but still don't know if it would do enough to go in forward?

So try backing in to see if you drag less or can live with it dragging but not doing damage.

So if it scrapes you won't buy one? Buddy you need to learn about these cars! The chin spoiler is made to hit, it makes an aweful noise and life goes on. All ten of my C5's and all 3 of my C6's scraped badly exiting my driveway. In 13 years, never replaced one yet.
