Default intake question

i have an LS3 and i want to buy a LS2 intake are they the same?

No. They are not the same.
The LS3 intake is longer, I believe, and may have other slight differences.

Why would you want to put a LS2 intake on a LS3 engine? That makes no sense at all.

Intakes from either engine are very cheap as many replace them with other things, so no reason not to just get the correct one.

As noted, not the same and it won't fit on your motor unfortunately.

I assume you are talking about the intake air cleaner, not the intake manifold. Don't try and save a few dollars by replacing your LS3 breather with one from a LS2. The stock OEM LS3 breather and the stock OEM Donaldson filter element are all you need for maximum flow and maximum cleaning ability. GM did a great design on the LS3/7/9 intake air cleaner and filter element. No need to get rid of it.

lol .....i saw an intake manifold for sale from a LS2 i wanted to port one and was trying to make it easy and have an extra one thats all...... thanks for the info.... other wise i have to pay a core charge or be without my car for awhile....

RE: LS2 intake manifold

The motorsports shop I had do the installation of my ported FAST had no fewer than 20 stock LS2 intakes laying around. Nobody could figure out what to do with them since they weren't worth too much and there wasn't much of a market for them.
