Put mine to bed about 4 weeks ago. She's covered, oil's changed, battery tender is hooked up and the garage heater is set to 65 degrees. Working about 125 miles away from home for the next couple of years. Will go home weekends to check on it (and the family) and the head out to work another week. One week at a time.

Wow, I am surprised by all you who are putting your cars away. I am the one living in Canada and for the last 4 years we have driven to right around Dec 1 and I expect no different this year.

My area (upper NY state) gets a lot of snow that many years starts earlier than the lower elevation areas of the state, that generates a lot of sand & salt.

I have a Z06 and while those are tires are good performing in "normal" weather, when the temp drops you tend to get an interesting ride.

My DD 4x4 will be my primary ride till late March early April

My Vette is going to her storage this weekend. SW Pa is suppose to get some bad weather today so all the leaves will be down and temps are suppose to drop. Vette will be driving only maybe every other week till snow falls. Now I can have our other vechicles in the garage.

When storing the Vette for the winter what additional pressure should be put in the tires? Better way to ask may be what should the tire pressure be for storage.

Since 98 when I got my first C5 I use 40. Never had a problem!

I stored mine last year and ended up with a dead battery. this year I WILL drive mine most of the winter with the exception of snow days. It gets way better milage than my 4x4 which will be used on snow days.

I live in south Central Pennsylvania. I never store my car, sometimes it sits longer than others. I expect to drive without snow into December, sometimes till Christmas. I will operate the car when the roads are free of slop. This past weekend I used the Corvette both Saturday and Sunday, the weather was great.

I had a C5 from 98 till spring 05 and I could get away without having a dead battery. The C6 is a different beast, both my previous 05 and now the 07Z go on a tender any time they are going to sit for more than a couple weeks.

Your right about the better mileage, but do to weather conditions we only drive 4x4 around here in winter. I live a 1/4 mile off road up the side of a mountain and even though I plow and sand driveway myself 4WD makes our driving much better.

I plan to drive mine all winter. But all we get is rain here. I won't take it out on the nasty stormy days, but I'm not fretting about driving it on those occasional showers type of days. No way I'll go more than a week without driving it unless I'm traveling.

I kinda figure that water was made to wash cars. Absent snow, mine will on the road all winter long.

I like salt on food... not on, in, around, and under the vette. But that's just me.
