Default Will a Corsa exhaust solve this?

Ever since I got my headers installed I've been finding I drive with my NPP's closed. The drone at highway speeds when doing even light acceleration in a high gear (ex. up a hill) is obnoxiously loud and ear numbing. Not to mention during deceleration it vibrates the metal plate behind the passenger seat (looking for a piece of dynamat tomorrow!).

I used to drive with it open all the time as I liked the aggressive sound- however the added drone from the headers put it a bit over the top for me. Is this an issue with the muffler? Would a Corsa exhaust allow me to have a more aggressive exhaust note but quiet down at highway speeds?

Don't get me wrong I love having the NPP and Mild2Wild controller to choose however I'm not 100% fond of either choice now. With NPP closed it's too quiet, and with it open the drone drives me bonkers.

Thanks in advance!

I have the Corsa Sport exhaust behind LG Pro headers and an LPE motor and I've never had any drone. I can't guaranty it'll solve your problem but it works for me.

I just made my first short trip, 500 miles, with my NPP flaps set partially open (1/4") from idle. The drone at cruise was not enjoyable. As soon as I returned home, I undid the mod.

Now its just plain Mild to Wild without the partial. Lot's better. Prefer a quiet cruise.

I imagine you'll need to drive a ride that has the mod you want in order to be sure. Maybe a club member?

the design of the Corsa mufflers eliminates drone. I say it will fix it.

I rode about 1000 miles this summer with a friend with an 05 manual with Corsa's. It has a lot less drone than the system I have. However, at 1500-1900 rpm, especially up slight hills, it still Does drone some. No doubt headers would make this a little louder. So based just on this experience, I think the Corsa's are the best solution available but nothing will really eliminate that low rpm high drag drone completely. Dropping down a gear or speeding up will!

I had Corse Xtreme on my last C6 and LOVED it. NO DRONE whatsoever.

Coolcat, aside from the Corsa Extreme is the rest of you exhaust system stock? I'm trying to decide between the Extreme and the Sport for my '06 Z51 6sp.

I just ordered a corsa extreme for my 2006 C6 Z51. Hope I made the right choice!

I think the sports might be a bit too...how can I say this lightly.....pansy for my taste. Though I'm worried that the Extremes might be a bit too far in the other direction. I need to hear both with a car that has headers but no head/cam work.

From my experience with Sport you will not have drone with headers but will definitely have drone with Sport, headers and the offroad X-pipe in the 1600 range. You will also have drone with headers and Xtreme in the same RPM range.

Yeah that's about the same rpm range that the open NPPs do it- but it's such a loud, obnoxious frequency. It's literally numbs your ears with the windows up.

I'm wondering if it will be improved with a Corsa rear-section or about the same?

You won't have drone with headers/Sport as long as you retain the cats.
