When will I ever learn??

No valet and I will not even use the tight garage parking structures. It is hard enough and I know what can happen. I'm lucky in that mine is a third car and I can use it when it is the right time. If DD then I guess once the cherry has been popped one can relax and enjoy.

parking lots, garages, ramps, they're all deadly, even in a daily driver. valet? I've watched how some handle obvious rental cars. If they care that little, in front of me, what are they doing when they get a fun car, and they're not in front of me? nope, I'm with OP---lesson learned from someone else's car, not mine.
I've left restaurants and office buildings without parking. yeah, it's just a car, but who pays to repair it and who wants it in a condition to need repair anyway? me, and not me.

A few months ago in St Louis, they caught some idiots at a major hotel doing burnouts in the parking garage and drifting. They apologized.
Its terrible they damaged your car.

Try as you might, you just can't avoid it all. I have not allowed a valet to park any of my personal (sports cars). My wife doesn't feel that way so we take her car whenever we know that valet parking is an issue. Fortunately she has never had a problem.
I, on the other hand, just noticed a scrape on the pasenger side right rear fender on my '09 C6 vert. When I am at home the car is in the garage. At work, I park in a garage where I place my car so far away from other cars, you could consider it another time zone. If I stop at a shopping center you would think my car is quarentened as I am so far away, and yet I still was scraped. I have no idea where it happened as it is on the pasenger side and it took my wife to see it a week ago.
You just can't win!

Just an update - after surprisingly little trouble I received a check for the repairs to my car at the shop of my choice. Scheduled to go in the 15th of November.

I have run into a few places that will only valet park, although most hotels have options that will let you park yourself.
Sometimes a big tip will get your car parked in front of the hotel if they think enhances their image. That used to work for me when I had a Mercedes S class or even longer ago when I had an E type Jaguar.

sorry to hear that but I knew several buddies who took jobs as valet parkers JUST to be able to drive high dollar cars and they had ZERO respect for any car. I don't understand why anyone would even do it. Is it a status symbol?, to me it says look at me, I am dumb enough to turn my car over to an idiot and pay them to beat on my car. again sorry that you had to go through this.
