In any case, I know days and more typically weeks in advance of an oil change. I always have what I need days in advance regardless of whether it is ordered and shipped to me or I get it at the local store when I do my oil changes.

I bought a few hundred dollars of fluids and it was here within 2 days on regular shipping.

I just checked the price of AMSOIL on line and it was $9.xx per Qt. vs Mobil 1 at Wallmart 5 qts for $21.00 thats less than $5 per qt for Mobil 1...

I lov my car but I refuse to pay almost double the price for oil.!

Especially since there is NO evidence that Amsoil is superior in any way, other than they use a pyramid scheme for sales.

In light duty, normal driving, probably so. In severe conditions a GRP4 oil will out perform a GRP 3. I put 13,500 miles on amsoil in one car I own and an oil analysis showed the oil in outstanding shape. Try that with a mineral oil.

I just paid $7.63 per quart just a couple or three weeks ago for AMSOIL ASL which is the 15k severe/25k normal service product. In the interest of full disclosure, this price was due to being able to buy under the Preferred Customer Program, discount for a case of 12 qts rather than ordering just individual qts, and does include the cost of shipping divided by 12 to get a per quart price. That price stated does not include state sales tax. I am fine with that price vs Wally World's price for M1. The price for AMSOIL drops even more if one gallon jugs are bought or better still if a case of 4 one gallon jugs are ordered.

I bought the 5 gallon jug of Universal ATF among other fluids.

Yeah, when it comes to engine oil, I do.

Any gain you may think you are getting in gas mileage by using a 0 weight oil is easily accomplished by driving slightly differently.

No definitely not 5 quarts... it's the big one for the automatic transmission. Dealer recommended I bring a little extra in the flush.
Came in a giant box and that's just the Universal ATF also had boxes of other fluids anti-freeze, pwr steering, synthetic brake DOT 3 fluid etc.

Great choice in my opinion. Mobil 1 0w20 is also oddly approved for GM 4718M. Their 0w30 is a really good oil.

I haven't seen this oil yet. Is it for extended intervals or what is the purpose of it?
As it is I would probably be changing oil (no matter what brand I use) once a year by the way I drive and usage.

Good thinking. Changing once a year is recommended, even for very low mileage garage and/or trailer queens.

Once the engine is warmed up it doesn't matter whether you are using 0-30, 5-30, 10-30 the vescosity when the engine is at temperature is 30. The lower number only indicates the vescosity of the oil at start up and lower temps.

Most 0-30 is thicker at temperature than most 5 or 10-30's. SAE 30 covers a very broad spectrum of viscosities.

So it is better to have a 0W at start up so the oil flows faster than 5W?

Must not be a GM dealer to have requested Universal ATF and not Dexron VI.
5 gallons for a flush when the only flush that can be done is on the cooler that only holds about a half quart? Even a pan removal only takes 6.5 quarts. Somebody is fooling you into giving them something for free.
