Running road course events. Our Arizona Corvette Racing group runs (mostly) time trials events at local NASA, Proautosports and Inde Motorsports Ranch events. We compete on the 3 road courses at Firebird Raceway, the road course at Phoenix International Raceway and I run at the new Inde Motorsports Ranch facility (hands-down the finest road course in Arizona). I'm kind of kicking myself for not going with the group to the NASA Nationals at Miller Sports Park next week. I wouldn't make the winner's circle but it would be fun to go with the guys and a great experience to run at Miller.

Any of the open road races. Nothing like blasing down a road at 150+ for 90-120 miles.

Sandhills Open Road Race. It is several events combined into one (car show, parade, mile shootout, open road race). Plus the cars and the people are great!

Kerbeck's Toys for Tots Run (coming up again on October 9). Ask anyone who's done it in the past, and they'll tell you why it's such a thrill.

Carlisle is next on my list.

I have done Eureka Springs, Vettes on the Rockies, Black Hills Classic, Bloomington Gold, Lone Star Corvette meet at the Texas Motor Speedway and the Vettes4Vets at the Talladega Super Speedway. All of them were great and I had loads of fun at every one of them, but driving on the Talladega Super Speedway at 150 MPH takes the cake. It rates as #1 in my book.

Yep, 150 MPH, but consider yourself lucky. They wouldn't let our club get over 25 MPH when we visited the Brickyard four years ago. We were able to run 125 MPH on the Texas Motor Speedway.

The only big Corvette only show I've ever been to was the C5/C6 Bash this year. Seeing the Factory, Museum and the show was great, but the car show it self was really kind of small compared to the car shows that I'm used to. Sounds like Carlisle and Bloomington Gold are the big Corvette ones.

My favorite shows are not Corvette exclusive. My favorite big show is Hot August Nights in Reno NV. You can walk you a$$ off, and not even begin to see it all, the whole city is a car show.http://www.hotaugustnights.net/

The Goodguys shows are all over, I've only been to the ones local to me. They are great, always lots to see. You can spend the whole day there and not see it all.
