Default Water Wetter

Pretty simple question here. Does Water Wetter do as advertised and lower coolant temperatures?

Pretty mixed results, works for some not for others. If you care to do an Advanced Search on "Water Wetter" in C6 General and Tech you will get a big list of discussions. Here are just (3) I grabbed:

Water Wetter originally was a substitute for antifreeze. It would help stop corrosion and lubricate the water pump when used with plain water. Adding it to Dexcool might be a problem, Dexcool doesn't play well with others.

It helped cool down my '95 LT1, but I can't give you exact numbers; been a while. Also, I only used one bottle, so prolonged use may differ.

Two bottles in my 2008 C6 lowered the water temp about 5 degrees F. No issues with the Dexcool. I now use it in several vehicles and my tractor. As stated above, works best with just plain water.

Just curious why do you want lower temps? Unless you race the car alot , day to day driving it's not gonna make that big a difference. Sure, when the car is cooler its gonna run a bit quicker and timing is not pulled, but again for daily use GM designed the car to run the way it is with the Dexcool.

This reminds me of all the people running a stock motor with a 160 T-stat on a stock tune=waste of time

When you have a higher mixture of water your engine will run cooler anyway as this mixture is per instructions.
