My first thought too.....What if it had been the paint?

I couldn't sleep with my GS parked outside.

I went through that with my new 1970 Chevelle SS396. Young and living in an apartment. Installed an alarm but still was nervous. Luckily, no problem for the year I was there. Bought first home with garage and breathed a sigh of relief. Sold that car in 2004.

Default Tires slashed on new GS.............

Sorry to hear about your tires being slashed. I know the Concord and Charlotte areas and vandalism does happen from time to time. Good luck with the insurance claim, hope it works out.

Sorry to hear about this incident. The POS that did this, will someday have an "unfortunate" accident.

How are the rims? Do they sustain any damaged or they pretty well cushioned by the flat tires!

Can't see kids doing this. I had way too much reverence for the vette when I was a kid!

Good luck.

Default I recommend the Michelin PS2 tire

Sorry to hear about your tires. You should look at this as an opportunity to replace the OEM Goodyear SuperCar tires with something much better. I recommend the Michelin PS2, but almost any tire that fits will be an improvement.

There is always a bright side to the story and I guess that is it. My condolences. Sounds like an insurance claim is in order.

As much as that sucks, this lifts my spirits for some reason:

If you like that type of music, then watch it all the way through. Very cool what happens to the kid at the end.

Well anyway I hope everything gets straightened out and on the bright side thank god they only damaged tires and not something like the paint and body panels.

I owned my first Vette 25 years ago while living in an apartment building without a garage. Came out one morning to find all 4 wheels and tires stolen and the car lying on the pavement. Never again!

Like another post said: The upside is that you can upgrade your OEM tires which in effect could save your life.

That sucks and it is a shame there are so many simple minded idiots around who find some sick joy in destruction of others property.

What's weird is the GS is probably one of the cheapest cars in my neighborhood. I'm going to check with some of my neighbors this evening & see if any of them got hit.

Infuriating.

Back when I lived in an apartment, I came out one morning and found my truck on blocks with all 4 wheels and tires stolen. The good news was my insurance covered it under "comprehensive", IIRC my deductible didn't apply to comprehensive and my rates didn't go up.

At that time my lease on my apt was nearly up and I made my #1 priority that at my next place I'd have my own garage, and I've never not had a garage ever since. It doesn't matter if you live in a "bad area" or not, parking a car outside overnight exposes it to things like this and lowlifes can peruse good neighborhoods as well as bad.

This is why I live in the country. Hope that you can get a dog, a ball bat, and some caffeine so that you can spend a few nights on surveillance duty. Good luck.
