I drove 1400 miles over the weekend (San Diego to Clearlake and back.) Waved and was reciprocated a half dozen times. Always puts a smile on my face

I could not agree more. I did plenty of waving during the weekend. It always felt great each and every one of the 4,000+ times I waved.

The wave is pretty lively here in central PA for the most part. I actually feel impressed with my "Vette Vision" sometimes when I spot an earlier model from real far away. One time I got so excited I saw a C6 coming, tried to wave and realized my window was up when I punched it...

With a huge Corvette gathering like Carlisle I'd almost think the wave would be redundant. Your arm could get worn out waving there. Maybe rig a glove on the windshield wiper (or on a metronome) and let it 'auto-wave' to everyone.

That reminds me... I was in my '82 last week, waved at a C6 and he gave me the finger. Such an angry young man.

I remember attending my first large vette event, (Bloomington) I quickly realized that waving could easily become a full time job. Guys didn't wave 'cause just being there with the thousands of other vette's was confirmation of our camaraderie, plus you'd need to have hand/wrist surgery after all the waving.
