Grand Sport=MIA from C6 fast list????
Was doing some browsing and it seems there is very little real world information from GS owners who've tracked their cars. Has anyone seen some stock times posted?
It would be beneficial to get some results other then what the mags have printed imo as there is always room to improve upon the factory numbers.

Come on guys.. let's not start. It's a fair reasonable question, I know we all have history but nothing wrong with the question.
I am sure a lot of new GS owners and Potential GS owners would like to see some times posted up.

Maybe there's a lack of input because most owners purchase the GS secondary to cosmetic reasons and not performance reasons..........seriously, that is why I would consider getting one. I think they look great (maybe not the badge but the overall package is worth it). Not trying to start anything here - just rendering an opinion.

If you're talking 1/4 times, take what ever you've learned from other LS3 cars and maybe slow it down a 10th accounting for the extra drag,
But actually, who cares. The GS LOOKS great!
These cars, ALL Corvettes, are not made to be drag raced...

How many even have enough miles on the engine to really get decent track times before the weather got too hot? I doubt many had enough miles on it before May or June. I know mine was really tight coming into summer and I just turned 6k.

I really don't think he was slamming the GS. If he wanted slam it he would have said, the GS is missing from the 1/4 mile listings because it's a reverse sleeper. It looks fast, but it is slower than a stock LS3 Vette. I think the GS looks great, but it's a shame it can't back it up by being faster. Same engine, heavier wider car = SLOWER!!!
Now that would have been a slam. And to the poster that said the Corvette is not meant as a 1/4 mile car, they are correct, but looking at the list, they sure seem to run the 1/4 mile darn good.

What?
The pieces added to the GS make it a better car for road course HPDE and such, right?
Dry sump lubrication and the trick magno suspension aren't going to help on a drag strip are they?
I like what goes into the GS because it'd be a better road course car....

By the way his thread is titled and the way he worded his orginal post does not indicate any bashing to me. I'd be willing to bet if you showed this thread to average reader, they would not say he is bashing the GS at all.

Seems to me the GS is selling like hotcakes without that info...remember that 99.9% of Corvette owners don't track them..so who really cares? I could care less what the numbers are for my convertible.

I normally agree with you on most stuff I see you post about, but in this case I don't. Just because he has been in the GS vs Z06 threads and he prefers the Z06, does not mean he is bashing the GS in this thread. I know you think it is subtle, or read between the lines, but I just don't see it here.

Your correct, average reader would not know he was bashing the GS by being subtle. Anyways, this thread should be good from here on because op knows I have a "told you so" waiting to be posted and he doesn't want to help prove me right, so this thread has be cleaned. Carry on with civil debate gentleman.

What about those that do want to track, or are tracking their cars? Just because your not interested does not mean others are not either. I am actually curious to see the GS times vs the base C6 to see how the add ons the GS has benefit it.
