Tom

Have a 2010 CTS-V with RECARO's and a 2009 C6 Coupe ..... No comparison.

When I take corners, it makes me miss my 350Z seats pretty damned badly.

I hope they make them for my 2006. Keep the price in the $3k range and I'll have a set preordered. Do they keep the side airbags?

As for pricing, I'd consider it if it was about the same as the Recaro option in the V ($3k), but anything higher than that would be a thumbs down.
GM and Ford work with a lot of aftermarket vendors. Some are marketed by GM/Ford and some are not. I wonder if crash testing is required with any RPO/accessory seats if GM decides to market them.

don't know what the price is now, but go to their website and see. I don't think they keep the side airbags, tho.

The air bag issue will prevent them from being an aftermarket option since it is illegal to remove or disable airbags in a car that has them. In some states you can't even work around them if you are not qualified.

The best thing for GM would for them to design a seat with airbags but it can't be much bigger than the current seat.

They need that seat With side airbags.

It would make no sense to offer it without them, because you can get that right now.

if they make them with the airbags, I will spend 5k on them.

I think I would top out at about $4k but man, that would fix the only problem I have with my Z06. I would buy without the side airbags but my wife who drives the car 3 times as much as I do really wants to keep them.

I know they are a safety thing and all, but in almost 40 years of driving I've never used side air bags, and don't know anyone who has. I really couldn't care less about them. I don't want to hear that it only takes once.

I think you lose some headroom with those.

My buddy's permanently disabled wife would likely not have been hurt with side curtain airbag her head broke the side window and the shock wave bounce through her brain. Trust me you want side curtain airbags if you can have them.

I'm sorry to hear about your buddy's wife. That is why I usually get airbags if they are available. I don't want to wonder "what if".

You can get seats that look damn near identical from Pratt & Miller that have the side airbags as far as I know.

Don't know if they sell them apart from the entire car but here is a pic. If these are available and don't require robbing a bank to pay for I'd seriously consider these

It only takes once to justify life insurance - and it has to be fatal. But I'll bet most folks on the forum have life insurance.

Now that is sharp. I would seriously consider those if they have the airbags (hint, hint). I wonder what the mags would pick on then. I also wonder how they would sell since people complain about spending about $2.5k for an upgraded interior. I don't think they would get many buyers for $6200 seats.
