tinting prices?
Just curious what everyone's paid to have their rear window & side windows tinted?
I had gotten quoted $250 for the standard brand & $400 for 3M brand, "Color Stable" I think, but they said it wasnt metallized so wouldnt interfer with SAT radio & key fob. They said it was so expensive b/c the rear window is soo rounded as is the front windows slightly. I dont mind paying that if it really is that tough & its going to come out perfect, but if its still too much why bother.
Do I really need non-metallized film?
And whats a decent price to have it done?
Any other suggestions?
TIA - Chris
PS - Probably should have mentioned this is for an '08 Coupe

I paid $250.00 for all the windows including the windshield. You need a good installer that knows what they are doing with the back window. Mine is one piece and it is down tight on the dots. Mine was a sale price, business was slow at my installer, I would expect to pay at least $350to$400 normally for all windows. Ask a lot of questions at different installers.

GS Window Tinting
I just bought a new GS and paid $250. I paid $225 for my C5. Make sure you go to someone who knows Corvettes. The back windows are tricky.

Paid $100 for mine. It's about who you know. BTW, the rear window is a tinter's nightmare. It took two guys with two heat guns to do mine in one piece. It is just way too big and complicated to do it right by yourself.

So far I haven't seen a tint job on the rear window that would satisfy me. The black dots must be removed around the window to do the job correctly. The Corvette tint installer on Orlando stated that the black dots cause air pockets to form and is very hard to get a good job.

I agree with Capt Bob, I've never seen one I would be 100% satisfied with on the rear glass. Many have had the wide area of dots at the top looking good, probably covered with vinyl, but they all have had the white line around the lower edges of the glass. Back to the question, I was quoted $325 a year or so ago.

I paid $150 for my 06 but haven't checked if that price is still good for the 09.
The installer told me anyone who tells you they can do the dots 100% is lying. He said he runs about 30% on getting the dots done perfectly. It's just a crap shoot. My 06 wasn't perfect but it also didn't get any worse.
