Turn off door locks

If you're talking about the automatic door locks when the engine is running and you're driving, there's no way to turn that off.
The automatic locking after you shut the engine off and exit the car can be programmed through the DIC to either lock & blow the horn, lock and flash the lights, not lock at all.

I am talking about the locks not locking at all. A dealer went into the computer on my Tahoe (an automatic) and turned off the automatic door locks so they would only lock manually when driving, exiting the car, etc. I am wondering if there is a way to do the C6 the same way. New dealer was no help.

"In honor of jpee"
that is interesting because I had that ability to turn off lock/unlock a long time ago in another car, again with the dealer doing the programming.
in the C6, I only have it done so the car does not lock automatically when engine is off. somehow, I think the car will still unlock if I walk up to the car with the fob; at least it does now. I don't think the unlock can be turned off (could be wrong tho).

Did your Tahoe have pushbutton door handles?

You can set the car to not auto lock when you leave it.
This product will unlock the doors anytime you are in it with the hand brake set. http://www.southerncarparts.com/corv...alet-p-69.html
I don't think there is an override for being locked while in motion.
Probably the best that you are going to do.

I think the automatic door lock is a feature that qualifies the car for a reduction in your auto insurance theft premium .
Passive door locking...check with your agent.

Here's what the Manual says:
From the Owners Manual:
Automatic Door Lock
Your vehicle is programmed so that, when the doors are
closed, the ignition is on and the shift lever is moved out
of PARK (P) for automatic transmissions, or when vehicle
speed becomes faster than 8 mph (13 km/h) for manual
transmissions, both doors will lock.
If someone needs to get out while the vehicle is running
or not in PARK (P), have the person use the power
door unlock switch. When the door is closed again, the
doors will lock either when your foot is removed
from the brake or the vehicle speed becomes faster
than 8 mph (13 km/h).
Programmable Automatic Door Unlock
Your vehicle is programmed so that when the shift lever
is moved into PARK (P) for automatic transmission
vehicles or when the ignition is turned off or is in
Retained Accessory Power (RAP) for manual
transmission vehicles, both doors will unlock.
With the vehicle stopped and the engine running, door
unlocking can be programmed through prompts
displayed on the Driver Information Center (DIC). These
prompts allow the driver to choose various unlock
settings. For programming information, see DIC Vehicle
Personalization on page 3-72.
Lockout Protection
Your vehicle can be programmed to sound the horn
three times and unlock the driver’s door when both
doors are closed and there is a keyless access
transmitter inside the vehicle. When the driver’s door is
opened, a reminder chime will sound continuously.
The vehicle will remain locked only when at least one
transmitter has been removed from the vehicle and both
doors are closed. See DIC Vehicle Personalization on
page 3-72.

^hahaha. It would be a poor choice to constitutionally unlock your doors. You lean left, hit the button and no seat belt on might mean road pizza. I actually tried this the other day at about 35 mph and under no condition would the door open.
