Default Made my son's day

My wife got my 11 year old son up at 6:30 AM this morning for Band Camp and happy was not the word I would use to describe his mood. His whole start of the day was off cause he didn't want to get.

To make matters worse, as he was getting his breakfast ready he spilled a cup of milk and had to clean it up. Then the poor kid tripped over a pair of shoes in the mudroom and bonked his head on the door when it was time to go to school for band camp.

Needless to say he was upset, mad, and still crabby but off he went. My wife said it was a very quiet ride to school. This is a kid who is usually pretty mellow and happy.

It was time for me to pick him up so I thought I'll brighten his day a bit and pic him up in the vette. The smile on his face was priceless as he was walking out of school surrounded by his friends all asking whose car that was. When he said his Dads, they all wanted to see it so I took a little time to let each of them look at it and sit in it. Very good bunch of kids, all were polite and Thanked me for letting them sit in the car.

As we were pulling out of the parking lot, he looked at me and said "Thanks Dad, I really needed that".

Perfect Father / Son moment

What a great story. Sometimes it is the little things a Dad does that are remembered for a lifetime.

The enjoyment my kids get out of the car sure increases the happiness I get from owning it ! I cant wait to teach them how to drive stick shift.

Very good story, brought a tear to my eye. I had a simaler experance, I was 11 my dad picked me up in a 69 stingray. My father was killed by a drunk driver while on his Harley last year, and hearing stories like this bring back the good memories. Thanks for sharing!
