Looking for GM Part Number
Does anybody know the GM part number for the silver plastic thumb push button at the end of our parking brake levers? Mine got stepped on while the parking brake boot was being changed. Still works, but all scratched up. Thanks.

If David doesn't have it why not call your local Chevy parts department or auto parts store? Isn't one of these where you were going to buy it anyway?

Yea, I have an appointment at my dealer this morning to have the new latches installed on my painted top. Guess I'll check in with the parts department while I'm there. Just thought it would be a lot handier and quicker if I already had the number. Doubt any auto parts store woud have what appears to me to be a corvette specific part like that.

Just left my car at the dealer for top latch replacement and went over to the parts department to order the plastic tip for the parking brake. They quoted me $216.00 and change. Seems that you have to order the entire parking brake assembly to get the tip. Why am I not surprised? Think I'll pass on that deal.

Thanks a lot, David. Love this forum. I originally joined back in 2000 when I bought my new C5 and was needing help with the column lock situation that those cars had. And of course gleaned so much Corvette knowledge as a result of participation with the forum then. Sold that car in '03 and went vetteless for a few years. When I bought my C6 ('08) I remembered what a great fraternity this forum is and began to participate again this past spring. What a great bunch of guys/gals!!

Yes, you do have to purchase a new parking brake lever assembly. Should you ever need anything new, let me know as I'd appreciate an opportunity to earn your business.

you're welcome, I have received so much knowledge and been the recipient of some pay it forwards, it's good to participate. I had replaced mine with a carbon fiber one, thats how I had mine extra. Glad it could be of use to someone. I don't like to throw away parts.

I wondered why you would have an extra one. But I was not about to look in the mouth of the gift horse! I did not realize that a carbon fiber tip was available. Where did you get yours? (And of course, how much? Less than $216.00 for a stock one, I imagine!) My car is an '08 with the carbon fiber look console.
