Default 09 Vette Purchase

Should I be concerned that an 09 Vette, Smoke Grey, C6, Z51, Auto, LT3, Nav, 6500 miles was in an accident a year ago. Damage was to the passenger door and sill area. The hood and passenger side of the car was repainted. The passenger door and sill were replaced. The pics of the car look good. Anything I need to check out when going over the car?

Sounds like a t-bone accident to me. I'd be concerned about frame damage, whether or not they had to pull it back straight again.

yeah you should be concerned. save ur money until you can swing something else with everything u want. Would you buy a Ferrari that had been in an accident for $100k? the resale would be low..............violently low

The shop is telling me that there was no frame damage. The repair cost was $2000. Sounds like for $2k it would be mostly cosmetic. The price on the car sounds good. Thoughts?

Most likely the car was t-boned, and not by a shopping cart. Walk away. There are plenty of good used C6's out there.

Will they let you take the car to a body shop that you know and trust and let them put it up on the rack, look underneath -- and evaluate the quality of the rest of the repairs?
If they sign off on it, you are right, 2K in repairs is probably a couple of pieces of body work and the paint.....
I would keep in mind though the potentially diminished value of a Corvette with an accident record....closer to low book than high is how I would consider it.....

Unless the price is so good that you're willing to take a chance on the frame and live with softer paint and possible mismatch over time, Pass. Lots of good deals out there.

You are 100% on the money, IMHO.
Good luck

Personally, I wouldn't buy a car that was damaged. There are way to many cherry pre-owned, well priced, Corvettes on the market. Plus this damage report will follow the car, and as mentioned you will feel the depreciated value when you sell/trade the car. Good Luck.
