Default Stock Tire Longevity

I have a 2008 C6 Coupe with 8,500 miles and the tires look brand new. I have Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar EMT and was wondering how long on average your guys tires are lasting and with my driving habbits (no burnout or racing) how long mine will approx last. The roads are pretty smooth where I am at not sure if that is a question someone will ask. I have a average MPH or 37 so its a mixture of highway and city driving. Any numbers would help!!!

how many miles do you have on the rear tires now and approx how muc tread?
and did GM or goodyear cover the replacement due to only lasting 22K or did it come out of your pocket?

I'm sorry, you've been buying and driving cars for how long?

My fronts are getting thin at 11,000. Rears look good.

They were wearing really well until I spent two days at Road America...

Lol at 45k mileage warranty.

My Non-Supercar's were replaced at 36k as they were at the tread indicator. Current Supercars have 14k on them and don't appear to be wearing much faster than the Non-Supercars.

After about 20,000 miles you will be ready to get some tires with a better ride. The Michelin Pilots are the way to go.

I agree, I have an 08 with 22000 miles and I'm getting ready to change them. As far as GM or Goodyear replacing them I don't know, but please let me know.

I would love to get some awesome michelin tires but having just paid off the vette and going back to college at 24, I will be tight on money, so I will probably have to stick around the 900 to 100 range instead of 1554 that the michelin tires are running on tire rack. Thanks for the great advice, also this is my first sports car as my first car was a 2003 Acura TL and had it for 7 years

I like them. Had them on the BMW and have them on the CTS. Spring Mountain uses Michelin Pilot Sport ZP on their school cars and will be using Cups on some in the future. The ZPs really hold the road well and feel good. I will seriously consider them when it is time to replace mine. I will also look hard at the new generation GY Supercars. I have heard some good reports.

Dozens of posts on tires and mileage if you use the search feature . . .Cliff's notes - -experience is all over the board depending upon driving style, inflation, etc.

There are guys that report replacing tires at 7500 miles or still good at 30k. I replaced mine at 21k and might have gotten a couple thou more out of `em, but had the opportunity to pick up a replacement set reasonably.

Welcome to the forum - - you'll find there aren't a lot of questions that haven't already been asked, so 'search' and the FAQ's are both good sources if you're in a hurry.

Otherwise-- there's always good info to learn.

my front tires had to be replaced at 10k, however i found that my alighnment was off from the factory. 13 k now and they still look fine and rears still look ok as well. search the forum and you will find that there are better tires for our cars out there both run flats and standard.

Firestone Wide Oval RFT (if you want to stay with a run-flat). I paid $1200 installed for mine and love them.

Edit: My GYs were shot at 16K miles.

I got 21,000 on my OEMs. Replaced w/ Michelin PS2s -- Pricey, but oh-so-good! Quieter plus handling. I hear the new PS2 ZP tire is superior for wearability.

This guy wants to pay 900 to 100 dollars....Hell, I'll buy everyone here a set if I could get them for 100..

Seriously, ...The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. Me thinks this toy might be a little too mature for 09zx6r.

Funny my fronts went first too, it's because of the suspension.

GY EMT Supercar = 9K miles for me.
Decided if me and this Corvette can
eat thru $1800 worth of rubber @ 9K miles...,
Sumpin' had to change.
So, now at 15,000 mi I can say that the Kumho ECSTA SPT's
have worked fine for my driving needs.
Looks like they are at about 80%.
I can't do any frk'n math right now.
Ruf estimate is 35K out of the Kumho's.
