Default What's it worth? 08 Coupe

I,m thinking of selling my 08 Coupe to get into a performance sedan that I will drive more often. Here are the specs. CRM/Ebony,Mn6, both roofs,3lt,nav,Z51,Npp,M2W,polished,compl ete 3m treatment, Gmpp 0 ded. till aug. 2014. Currently has 3,300 miles on odo. original owner title in hand. I won't trade as I know I'll take a pounding, but what could I expect (fair) from a private sale?

$36-40k depending on how fast you want to sell it.

I wouldn't sell it for less than $40,000. There are lots of C6 Vettes, but your car is the kind. There were only 2,277, 2008 Manual, Z51, NPP, coupes made, and only 897, 2009 manual, Z51, NPP, coupes. You have great exterior, and interior colors, and both tops. The bottom line is, you should keep your car. Out of all the C6's made, there are only 3,174 LS3, Z51, MZ6, NPP, coupes, I'd keep it, but if you're going to sell it, make sure that buyer knows what he's getting, and make him pay for it.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep it and enjoy the times I do get to take her out. I really don't need another car, I just get like this at times.

I was born in RI. There are a bunch of great places to see right around you. Pack the Vette up, and take it on a bunch of mini vacations. Enjoy.

With all due respect, that really isn't that rare. Having shopped for a car similar to what the OP is going to sell, I believe a listing price of around $38k is about right.

I bought an 08 coupe, JSB, 3LT, Z51 M6 (no NPP) for lot less than that. It does have 25k miles though, but still in warranty.

It all comes down to a few things that you can't control. The local market for used Corvettes (remember you have two excellent forum dealers within a few hours of your state). How much the buyer is willing to spend. A 2 year old Corvette is not rare. As far as trade-in check to see if your state reduces your sales tax on your new car by the amount of your trade-in tax value. That would be about $2500 in my state.

As far as the warranty, you can just dump it when you sell the car and get a good chunk of what ou paid for back.

If "polished" is surface condition then if I was buying a two year old car I would expect it and deduct if it was not in top condition.

3M treatment is also a mod and mods usually don't have any value.

I would not sell a car unless I had to with the economy the way it is now.

I think "polished" was describing which wheels he has. Polished vs. chrome vs. painted.

Go here http://www.compnine.com/vid.php?

It'll tell you all about your car based on the VIN.

The one thing good about trading your car in is what ever they give you will not be taxed on the new car.

A lot less than $38,000? How much less?

Here's the other numbers;
2008 Coupe, Manual, Z51 = 3,491
2009 Coupe, Manual, Z51 = 1,364
Total LS3, Z51, MZ6, coupes = 4,855

So without NPP, there are 1,681, 53% more cars like yours than his.

Here's his, "'08 coupe, CRM/Ebony, Mn6, both roofs, 3lt, nav, Z51, Npp, M2W, polished, complete 3m treatment, Gmpp 0 ded. till aug. 2014. Currently has 3,300 miles on odo. original owner title in hand."

Here's yours, "08 coupe, JSB, 3LT, Z51 M6 (no NPP), 25k miles, still in warranty.

Now get out your calculator, his has 21,700 less miles (????), both roofs ($1,200), NAV, NPP ($1,200), polished wheels, GMPP 0 ded. till Aug 2014 ($1,500 +), complete 3m treatment, and M2W ($100), not to mention a great selling color combo.

In this market, a seller of his car may not turn down $38,000, and the buyer would be getting one heII of a deal.
