Forced Induction OR Naturally Aspirated.

I voted FI. I have both a supercharged Vette and an all motor Mustang. If I could do it over again on the Mustang I would go FI. Im very happy with how the stang turned out but for the money I spent I couldve had a car with FI that got better mileage, drove like stock, made more power, and wouldve been very easy to go back to stock if I needed. I have the A&A kit on my 2008 vette and love it. Great gas mileage, drives like stock and more power than I know what to do with.

The only big issue with FI is cooling, and most of that can still be address if you are willing to spend some extra $$$.

You can run 10's N/A on pump/no meth with the right H/C tire setup. That's faster than 99% of you daily driven guys can use. Plus, it's a cast piston engine and was never meant for boost that's why many of them are blowing up over in the Tech/FI section. Also, Spin and Powerlabs got into a discussion awhile back as to why an N/A car with the same power as the F/I one is always faster/ higher trap speed.
Don't get me wrong, if you want insane power a built LSX with FI/meth is the way to go - way more potential

It may not be totally understood by everyone but the fact is 500rwhp N/A is faster than 500 rwhp FI on the track.
FI = Feels Fast
N/A = Is Fast
And this is coming from someone who had a 500rwhp supercharged car.

go forced
O.K. Im guilty of not posting pics,, I will. I,ve got my G/S back from Lingenfelter,, and the blower is right on,, great driveability,, but when you ask for it ,,, man it delivers,, I couldnt be happier, with their work. Its not a dd. but but every time Ive had it out, I gotten compliments,, aside from the Lingenfelter badging,, the hood draws your attention to it.. Anyway I think forced induction is a good route to take, provided its by a quality mod shop..

Melting Slicks
I'm waiting for Edelbrock to come out with their E-Force system for the LS2, then figure out how to get the car to Chuck's in Westchester for installation. I'd love the added horsepower with no body mods.

Your're right...there are pros and cons either way. I feel a lot has to do with the application but for me there's no question...I want naturally aspirated power. I don't know any Corvette road racers who run with FI. I especially don't like the idea of using forced induction on a stock, cast-piston engine.

I think most Corvettes spend at least 95% of their time on the street and the vast majority of FI cars dont damage their engines if they keep the power levels reasonable(under 600 for arguements sake). You hear of quite a few N/A grenading also. Its not F/I specific. Either way is great.IMO

That is true for cars not running methanol injection: the IAT's rise as the car goes down the track and the ECU pulls timing; at the end of the run, my car was running 7 degrees of ignition timing retard, so it could be down on power by 100 or more RWHP. With meth that disadvantage goes away. ALSO, 500rwhp from FI is pretty weak; I made 600 with nothing but a bolt on blower on a stock engine; good luck keeping up with that on the street with 100 less horses...
