I've also noticed that if our club is in a caravan, and we pass a group of Harleys, the Hog riders usually wave or thumbs up. I guess one American icon to another. It has happened too many times to be coincidence. Owning a Harley, I'm always glad to wave back!

Reason being is that I'm a young Corvette driver (21 years old, although I look even younger) and I've detected resentment from older owners on more than one occasion, unfortunately. I can recall two times that I was shot a dirty look, as though I'm unfit to drive my car due to my lack of grey hairs. Of course, the same can't be said for everyone, luckily. I know a number of older gentlemen that drive Corvettes that are friendly (my father included) and this has only happened to me twice. Still, twice.
Maybe it's just the arthritis in us old farts that keeps us from getting the wave out fast enough to be seen!

Default Sorry

Hi!
I'm new to Corvette ownership and was not aware of the Corvette Wave.
It was after the second wave from another corvette that I went on the Internet and looked it up. My apologies to the first Corvette that waved at me... I did not respond... I was caught by surprise and just didn't know!

You are forgiven- just keep waving from now on.
Part of the problem & blame is on your Chevy dealer!

Here in Oshkosh I think I always get the wave. Of course in Wisconsin we are already pretty well conditioned by the Harley wave as well.

53 yrs ago my dad taught me bout the wave. He a 60 with 283, 230 hp,3 speed, white, silver cove, black top, red interior. We used to get the magazine, I believe it was called Corvette News. I read it cover to cover. I have an 04 ZO6, 09 vert with red interior. I always wave. To me it's not if they wave, it's if I wave.

I always. First learned about in a 1974 corvette brochure. Always get a wave back.

To "all the young dudes; carry the news " (Mott the Hoople).

damn; I'm cool for a senior!

Was out to dinner with my wife this week and past a brother Vette owner and we both waved. My wife questioned me about it and I told her it is just what we do. She just laughed

Last Sunday I went for a drive and waved at the only other Corvette I saw that day. He waved back.

On my way home from the beach that same day I guy on a 1400cc Harley paced me and gave me the thumbs up. I pointed at his bike and gave a thumbs up back at him.

It was the first sunny day in a while out here in rain country.
