Does this interior picture look off?
A friend showed this to me and asked if this pictures looks ok for the dash fit. I dont know it looks like that mode / page piece may not fit well at the top -- the car may have been worked on in the past or damaged before --- but then again it may be normal? I have not seen enough C6,s to know. Thought Id throw it out there to see your thoughts. and thanks. i have not done pictures before so hope i can figure it out.

thanks guys. The car has less then 4500 miles on. Like you mentioned Cross - Wasn't sure if it was a bad factory install (might be able to fix it slide the bottom over towards the passenger side if that can be done?) --- or it may be a bad repair and the car was invloved in an accident ..... carfax comes up clean and no dealer history from what was told but not sure how to tell the true story?
I didn't know if this was common and maybe you all that bought new had them like this and may not be a big deal?

looking at it more the bottom piece looks in there fine and can't move over anymore. Do you know if that top piece (above the oil gauge) fits into a slot in the dash underside and maybe it is not in the slot all the way?

You're going to have to take off that instrument cluster surround piece. It definitely looks like the button pod is not clipped into the surround piece correctly.
I just changed out my cluster surround piece for one done by DSV and that button pod should be sticking out slightly when it is clipped in correctly.
There are some instructions on the forum on how to do that. It isn't too hard really.

Of course a picture is a little difficult to compare to a real dash panel, but my 2006 and now my 2009 have the edge gaps that get wider, similar your pic.
Best thing is always to compare to a couple of other cars face-to-face.

If I remember correctly, the pieces with the switches are secured from the back side with screws? Perhaps they are not screwed in all the way, thus creating a gap? The should almost stick out pass the "lip" off the pods.

It's possible for the button module to get hung up when reinstalling it which could cause a gap like that. The screws will get tight, but it's not properly aligned. IMO, it's an easy fix and on a car with less than 5000 miles I really don't think he has much to worry about. I definately wouldn't use that as an only reason for thinking the car was involved in an accident.
