I use an Android app called "Mileage" which I use every time I fill up the Civic and the Vette. My last tank scored me an average of 30.19 mpg and that was doing 70-75 from the Outer Banks all the way back up to Northern VA.

Yep,

last year Dad and I ran my 2006 Vert 7 hours one way to Ohio through the hills... top down and A/C on, we got 27.5 there, 70-80 MPH, and 31.5 MPG on the return trip home, 60-70 MPH. I was shocked!

Also, when the hills started coming, the Vette left all the other cars in the dust even in 6th gear in cruise control. Man, she's got power!

Good to hear of your good experience!

I can't seem to get mine over 21 mpg - I just did a 600 mile round trip out to the desert, but I ran the AC the whole time and had two people in the car and the rear loaded with luggage - so no complaints

Last year went out to Bowling Green, then Nashville & Memphis & back to eastern Pa. Averaged 27.9 in all driving. Leaving for Florida this weekend & hope I do a little better. Should be less city after I get past DC. Vettes get great mileage... The car mags never report that. Only the crappy seats.

This seems impossible, unless you picked the car up with 700 miles on the odometer.

Were you driving in fifth gear? Seriously, in more than 500,000 miles driving Corvettes I have never had highway mileage below 24.9 mpg and that was on my 95 C4.

In 50K miles on my C6 the lowest trip mileage I've ever gotten was 26+

Just got back from a trip to Amarillo 402 miles each way. Got 29.4 going, 28.9 coming back.... two people with luggage - and I weigh 263.

Get notified of new replies

To 28.9 MPG! Nice.

21 sounds pretty awful. I had the car loaded up completely with 2 suitcases and tons of other stuff for the beach. Additionally the lady was with me and we ran the AC the entire trip down and back. Even with all the traffic going down I still was doing 27ish.

I got 28 or so on my trip home from the NCM when I picked it up (about 800 miles of highway driving at one shot).

Around town, forget about it; I get about 200 miles per tank
