Buy a OBDll scanner for about $80 bucks and read the codes yorself
Greetings jpee,
This (using a scanner ) is a really an easy DIY operation. The C-5 made it easier with a built in DIC (Driver Information Ceneter...and then look up the codes.
With the C-6, ya gotta buy a sanner and then look up the codes.
Amazon sells a good one, an "INNOVA 3100"for about $80 bucks.
So get the scanner, plug it in, read the codes (if any) and save money.
Regards,
Duffy

For every $198 they collect they believe they've made a killing profit wise. They do not seem to grasp that for each of those, several customers have probably gone elsewhere because they see the scam. In the long run they make less, not more money. Bad business practice.

Get together with some of your buddies and buy an ODB-II diagnostic reader. Works with allmost all cars. Now you can diagnose ands even reset issues that are not a real problem. Problem solved...

I pay less for oil changes, etc. etc. now than I did with the dealership I used in TX. I paid nearly a $100 a pop for oil changes there which I got reduced by $40 by providing my own oil and oil filter. Now, I only pay the $40 and don't have to buy my own oil and oil filter.

Maybe its unrelated but my wife's 07 mustang started leaking into the interior like crazy at a car wash.
I looked it up and there is a TSB on it. The local ford dealer said they want 150 to fix it.
I told them there is a TSB and that they can charge it to Ford and they said they cant.
I'm calling the dealer I bought it from today.
I think with this economy the dealerships are trying to get double paid for work.
