i deal with tragedy in an odd way. ive always been "wired" that way. started when i was a kid and my dog died. i laughed hysterically but cried at the same time. weird. the same laugh when your boss tells you that he wants you to solve the economic crisis and have it on his desk in 3 hours. i laugh because its crazy and i know he's dead serious.

I hear ya. I was just a little amazed because from your prior post, you said you had a connection to the victims. This is just a sad and senseless ending to a stupid decision the driver made. Four families have to be devastated. There have been times that I too have driven like an idiot but got away with it and fortunately nobody got hurt. It could have ended up the same way in this case and it would have been just another day.
Unfortunately there will be another big crash every few seconds due to poor driver training/decisions.

That's terrible news. That guy had to be flying to scatter debris that far along the road. The police don't know wheather the other two were pedestrians or passengers. Yikes, if they were passengers, 4 in a Vette? Never heard of that before.
Wonder if he just couldn't handle the car and lost control, had a blow out, was cut off, etc. I certainly don't know, but my gut tells me he just lost control.

Very sad for all of their families. I can't imagine what they must be going thru right now.
Corvette stereotyping. Happens all the time.
You know, I just had a random thought. Imagine if you were the first person to discover the aftermath on the street. You call 911, the police arrive, and happen to notice that you also drive a Corvette. Now imagine what they would suspect of you.
It seems to me that you would likely have a very hard time convincing them that you were not somehow involved. That's almost as bad as having your fingerprints on the murder weapon at the scene of the crime even though you're completely innocent. Honestly, you'd be screwed just for being there with a fast sports car.

A very likely scenario in this case
A very likely scenario in this case.
Three, possibly four people in a C6, only one person belted in, the roadway they were on is a long sweeping "S" with railroad tracks half way through the "S" to add more unstableness to any car, a high rate of speed and one or more of the unbelted bodies ending up on top of the driver through the "S".
That's the end of steering the car and then the tracks, just something to add to the unstability of the C6.

Everyone should have a tougher course how to drive instead of the joke we have in the US. I bought my wife a 5700lb SUV because of the idiots on the road. The Corvette has more power than a lot of owners can handle.
It is sad that something like this happens but it sounds like all 4 were in the C6 to start with, possible alcohol, high speed, possible street racing, no seatbelts on at least two of them. They probably increased their chances of dying by 6 digt %.
That would make the news no matter what vehicle is but Corvette does seem to sell a lot more than say an Accord or Focus.

The article says that the driver was female - so maybe a male passenger and a male and a female in the hatch causing "distractions".

I could see 4 people in there if it was a convertable but a coupe I'm not sure. To me it looks like a vert I don't see how the roof structure of a coupe would just be flattened like that but I could be wrong. Either way it was a dumb thing to do.

Maybe to just remember to be a little more careful with a really powerful car? I'm certain that nobody set out that night intending to end the evening that way. That's why they call it an accident.
