Quarter Mile Time with 557 whp
Ok guys, I'm taking my car to the track tonight to see what she posts for 1/4 mile time.
What are your guesses I may run? I am a newbie to track racing. Only 3 runs in the last 10 years of my life. (obviously a lot of the time depends on my skills driving)
Shes is fresh off the dyno 3 weeks ago and posted 557.8 whp. Mods are as follows:
345 width tires (street tires with good tread)
6 speed, manual
*LG pro Z06 longtube headers with highflow cats
*Z06 stock exhaust
*Cam spec= 224/228 .581/.588 114lsa
*TSP ported heads w/ stock width head gaskets
*MP122 magnacharger @ 5psi
*K&N Z06 filter element
*Widebody Kit
*Supercharger Hood
*Z51 Package
*HUD
What would be a good 1/4 mile time range?

Considering a stock Z06 w/DR's can run 10.7

Your 100 HP advantage should put you in the low 11's and possibly high 10's.
Looking forward to your results.

Whatever happens don't get discouraged. Drag racing takes practice like anything else. Everything has to fall in place for a good ET, especially launch.
Good luck

Quick question:
How much gas is optimal to have in the tank for best traction and speed? Its almost empty now so I can put however much is best.

Being your first time at the track with that much horsepower trying to get it to the ground........mid 13's is my guess to start.
But do NOT get discouraged....practice,practice,practic e...you've got a 10 second car for sure.

I ended up running an 11.977 for my best time. Most runs were in the 12.2 area. Temp was 75 degrees (unusual for Wisconsin at this time of year)
The track didnt have any tack down on it, which made me mad at the time because I couldnt launch hard. Now that I read through these posts, Im glad there wasnt tack. My clutch is fine and so is the rear end. No issues. Ill probably look to upgrade that in the future though.

What were your 60 foots?
How do you know that there was absolutely no VHT on the track? Did you walk to track? It is very rare that any drag strip will not have VHT down, even if you didnt see them heavily applying it. The fact that you are not able to launch hard has a lot more to do with the fact that you are on street tires. With your level of power you will blow them away in any situation.
