gas mileage - you can't beat it
took a trip up to Watkins Glen from NE PA yesterday. lots of back roads and stop lights, and some 65 MPH driving. For the 250 mile trip, got almost 29 MPG. the gas mileage for the car continues to improve (have 22,000 miles on now). also, since i added the vararam, got a surprising benefit besides the performance, as it does appear that it has helped the gas mileage 1-2 mpg.
what a great economy car!!!

Our 2009 Coupe with the A6 and Performance Axle and Z51 (sticky tires) is probably the thirstiest ordinary Coupe you can buy, but it's still rated at 15/25, combined 18. A 4k miles road trip with lots of time in the heavy pedal, gave us 25.3
We just bought my wife a 2011 Toyota Camry V6 rated at 20/29, combined 23. Thriftier than the 'vette, but not a lot.

I was recently in west Texas on I-10 cruise set on 90. I was heading west so I likely had some head wind. I brought up instantaneous gas mileage, it was 34. Ten miles later it was still 34
In the 60s my kidneys could do a full tank of gas '66 395 El Camino.

Simply put, there is no car that will perform like the Corvette and still get that kind of mileage. I didn't buy it for that reason but it sure makes it fun when someone at a party starts kidding me about how irresponsible I am to be driving a car that uses so much gas.

in texas the wind is either from the south (predominately) or the north. the trees in west texas and the panhandle lean to the north. you most likely had a nasty cross wind. 34 mpg is great even with a tail wind.

I must have a dud! I can't get over 15 MPG. That's not even flooring it at all. I'm hoping as the car breaks in I will get better mileage. I'm doing suburban driving and I've got about 1,600 miles on it already. Almost time for it's first oil change.

Even when I took a spirited cruise in the mountains, I still averaged about 24mpg. That was using the paddles and not using 5th or 6th much. I never thought a performance axle would be 2.73 but with the Vette's low end torque it can get away with it and get great gas mileage.

I tell people that Vettes get better gas mileage than any other production car.
Uh! Oh yeah, at 160 mph.

I don't know how but my gas mileage improved quite a bit with the addition of A&A Supercharger kit, headers, x-pipe and exhaust! I had a conservative tune at 551rwhp and it is a 2006 (nonZ.) I just drove about 120 miles strictly highway and made 33.7 mpg. My average speed was 75mph. Is that crazy or what!? On my 2nd vette and I plan on being a lifetime member.

We have our 06 A6 coupe and my everyday beater is an 05 Cavalier & my wife has a 04 Honda CRV. We've taken all 3 cars on fairly long trips ( over 1500 miles ) and the CRV averaged 26.7, the Corvette 27.9 and the Cavalier 31.9. Now, in reality, neither the Cavalier or CRV cannot get that great mileage cruising at 70 mph and in all traffic...city & highway. The only advantage they have is they use regular gas. The 06, and my 99 I had before it were the best road cars I ever had. The 99 actually would average higher, but, that was a M6.

HA HA!! Gas mileage? What's that?? Over 4 years my over all average is around 15 mpg! I have 06 MN6 coupe with no engine mods. Now either mine gets poor mileage or my driving style simply isn't conducive to what others seem to get!
Not a big deal because I didn't buy the car for gas mileage.....

I just took a trip from Savannah, GA to Tampa, FL about 700 miles round trip and I averaged 26.5 mpg traveling at 80 mph mostly intersate. I was very happy with this mileage considering I was going 80 most of the way. Oh yeah, I have a 2008 Z51 MN6. These cars really do get great mileage for the performance punch they pack!
