If you have NPP it keeps the exhaust open

If your Vette is a C6 Z07 or a 2008 or newer with the Factory NPP option for the dual mode exhaust, you can pull the fuse located under the passenger floorboard. This allows the exhaust to always be in open mode. The NPP muffler system operates on engine vacuum and is programed to normally open at around 3200-3400 rpm.

Default fuse

I have an 06 Z06 as well, fuse is in the lower right corner, seems to me mine was not labeled, or maybe it said spare. Noticable difference in exhaust note for sure.

Pull the fuse and you will never put it back in. It sounds great.

Yes there is a prominent notice in the sound especially at idle. It is only a fuse so it wont hurt anything and there are aftermarket products that do the exact same thing except they allow you to switch it on/off at your will.

I thought only the base model had if its a 2008 or newer with NPP. Looks like from here earlier Z06 models had it as well. Pull down the passenger seat foot panal and its either the second one from the bottom or the bottom one on the right hand side of the panal. Does not hurt the car at all. I do it for around town blasts but if you go for a long ride put it back in. The "Drone" will drive you mad!

Pulled it on my 2009 and I love the sound. Especially the burble as the engine slows. Only time to put the fuse back in is for funeral processions! I normally do not like exhaust that is to loud, but the open NPP isperfect for me.

Owners manual shows which fuse is for the exhaust for those who are curious.

Just installed the "Mild to Wild" mod on my 010 and love it. It allows you to keep it quiet at highway speeds but nice and beefy crusing around town. Great mod IMO.
