Default Another window indexing question, but a little different... I promise

I hate asking a question that seems like it could be easily answered by just searching, but I'm at a loss.

I have to re-index my drivers' side window quite often, but not he passengers' side. Why?

Secondly, when I re-index my drivers' side window (raise and hold for 3 seconds, release, and then hold for an additional three seconds) it doesn't immeadiately correct itself. Again, why? Although it eventually does raise all the way (thankfully so far).

Do you have to re-index both windows at the same time in order to work?

I'm afraid that something with my window is on the verge of going astray (I have an '05) and looking for some reassurance that this is normal.

As always, thanks!

You should only need to reindex after power loss from a dead or disconnected battery. That does not sound normal. I think a trip to the dealer may be in your future.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I've read that others have experinced window issues when raising or lowering their windows with the door open.

So hopefully the issue isn't only related to a dead battery.

Of course, I've been careful to only operate the windows with the doors closed to eliminate that possibility.

Sorry to say that.

No, one window should not affect the other.

I guess I'll hold out a little bit and see if the problem continues before taking it in.

I have only had the car a couple weeks and not ready to turn to over to the dealership for an issue that's only mildly inconvenient.

Thanks for your help.

One thing I noticed was if I opened the drivers side door to fast (not waiting for the window to fully index "down" slightly) that I would then have to re-index the window. That could be the problem. Since the drivers' door is used more often that could be the reason it occurs on the drivers side more than passenger side.

Good observation. I'll start watching how quickly I open the door. I know that I usually open the door without any pause at all.

I love this car, but I must admit it definitely has its quirks. I guess that's what makes it, it.

If the window is working correctly, it does not matter whether the door is open or closed when you put the window up or down, the indexing feature still works.

Ah-ha! I DID replace my battery and now I apparently need to "re-index" my windows, but I see nothing in my Owners manual about such a process. Can someone pls help me out?
Thanks!

From page 2-17 of your manual....use it whenever you disconnect power from the car:

Power Window Initialize
After a power reconnect such as battery replacement,
the window index-up feature will not function until
the system is initialized. Once power is restored,
do the following:
1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window by pulling up the switch.
3. Hold the up switch for three seconds after the
window is closed. Release the switch.
4. Hold the up switch again for three seconds
and release.
