Default what's this part called on roof?

Hi,

The plastic insert (right) on my roof, on the front right edge, that goes into the forward roof holder in the cargo area, has broken. Put it back in once but it fell out. Found that one of the plastic pieces that holds it in broke off so it won't stay in the roof frame.

Looking on the gmpartsdirect.com site I can't find it in any of the illustrations. It looks like I need to go roof, interior trim, headliner, retainer, right, but I can't tell for sure from the illustration. Any help would be appreciated in figuring out which part to order.

2005 base coupe, btw.

My 2005 Mitchell Estimating Guide lists a part that covers the center of the roof right behind the rear of the roof panel attach point as, "Rear Panel Trim part number 10330523", the 2005 price for the part is $43.45.

You can go right to your local parts counter and they can let you look at the exploded parts view on their computer, which will make it easy to make certain you have the right part.

Also there should be a part number on the hidden side of the part.

Thanks, found the number on the part: 15218382. Shows up at Parts Taxi as:

Removable top - Top and components - Front bracket Front bracket Right - Coupe 2005 - 2010

MSRP $19.27 Core $0.00 Your Price $13.79

Part number 15218382 was superceded by part number 15779604.

Interesting that it doesn't show up at GMPartsDirect.

Good call on looking at the number.

i have nothing to add to this, other than i see the OP's name is "Boz86", which struck me as funny. As an OU fan i remember former Sooner great Brian Bosworth who played at Oklahoma back in 86.

Looks like the Corvette tax wasn't too high on this one.

The nickname just a combination of a couple of things -- as a Texan who didn't go to school in Oklahoma I feel no attachment there :-)

Funny coincidence though, thanks for pointing it out.

I don't know, it's a very small piece of molded plastic with a even smaller piece of cloth glued to it.

I've had one of those replaced under warranty.

The one on the driver's side of my roof pops off consistently when I take the roof out of the hatch...one of the little plastic tabs snapped off one of the times it popped off and got popped back in

the new one still comes out consistently, but hasn't broken yet

Was it difficult to remove and replace this piece? Both of mine are chipped and could use replacing. Are they held in by some sort of screw?

Don't know how easy it'll be, looks like two plastic tabs on either side. One broke so mine keeps falling out.

My driver's side broke off today......guess this isn't unusual. Thanks for the Parts Taxi suggestion.
