Absolutely. There may not be a NEED for it for everyone, but there are some who can legitimately use wider tire of the softest composition. Generally someone laying down 1000+hp has the $$$ to upgrade everything else as called for. This would be for a speed freak who likes to go fast in a straight line.

I like wide tires in general, not a huge fan of displacing the origin of offset, however. Makes more sense to get custom wheels with a wider hub and the corresponding offset.

I prefer the 1.5" over this extreme version, but if the car does what the owner wants it to do and looks the way they want it to look, more power to em!

Glass houses...
All of you guys that 'don't like the look' say IMHO, then it's not hypocritical

and don't you love this new trend of letting the hood rust out?
WTF are these DB's thinking?
But again it gets back to cars in general...to each his own, just don't make me ride in it (although that fata$$ Z06 would probably be fun even if it needed to be on a Jenny Craig Program)

Like all mods, beauty is in the eye of the 'mod-er'.

Can't say that I hate it.
Can't say that I like it.
Can say that it is different, and if that is what the mod-ers were aiming for, they have achieved that.

Down here in TX we're obviously not on the leading fashion edge, that's rust and it's on purpose???

Not my taste.

But I often wonder how these performance "enhancements" would handle on the track...

..Youre right.....I also dont care for the C5 or C6 with only the rear wide body kit.....without the front having similar fender flares the car looks out of balance....JMO...

My guess is that this C6, like 99% of all C6's, will never see a day on the track, and that the "enhancements" the owner made are there not for track performance, but just because he/she wanted them, or liked the look.

Nothing wrong with that; let's just be honest about our motives. We've got to admit it -- an extremely large percentage of *all* of our favorite "enhancements" would fail the "does it make a difference on the track" test (like chrome wheels, Zr1 side skirts, "jake" stickers, Carbon Fiber bits, etc). But they make us happier!

Not for me. The rear looks out of place, and the rear splash guards don't flow at all like they do on the Z06 rear quarters.

And it doesn't matter how wide of a tire you can stick under there. The widest tire I've seen in production is a 375, and they fit under the stock Z06 quarters just fine.

I love the wide body the Z06 has and will one day get it, but this one here is a little too much for me.

The Black Z is just about the meanest C-6 I have ever seen.

We all like different things so it comes down to personal taste. Personally I think it is overdone. As long as the owner likes it, that is what counts in the end.
