Default C6 Vert rear Hatch

Does the rear hatch on c6 verts have the power assisted closing feature or is it strictly a manual closing setup??

yeah, if you mean the trunk, it's manual. if you mean the tonneau portion that covers the convertible top when it is down, that's my "hatch."

And ..... you have to give it a pretty good slam to shut it. I thought it was just my '08 until I tried to shut the trunk on an '09 at the local dealership and it required the same "slam".

I don't slam mine, I drop it and then push it closed.

yes, a couple times I did slam it. but then I thought: these things are delicate. after all, many of us think they're SO delicate we leave them in the garage for long, longggggg periods of time. that is, until we sell them to the next owner after 4 years and 200 miles on the odo.

so, after that I started taking better care of my car. I no longer slam the lid. I push it down and slowly make sure it latches.

that way, the next owner will have a great, low mileage, un-slammed, car.

If my vert has been sitting for a little while, then I pop the trunk with the fob, then shut it by pressing down on the lid, it will set off the alarm. If I just slam it, it does not. Strange.

Interesting....I wonder what would happen if you used the trunk button instead of the fob?
