"I voluntarily took 60 days off from OT"
40.
I didn't buy a Corvette unitl I COULD pay cash for one without it hurting me.
Let's face it, if you have a Corvette, and are making making payments on it, I certainly hope it's your daily driver. If it's a side-toy like mine, and your making payments, I think you're friggin nuts.

Yeah but how long have the auto makers been offering free money to finance new vehicles? And whens the last time you saw a bank offer 0% loans? The zero % loans of the last couple years have been last ditch efforts by auto makers to cut each others throats in desperate survival times. For the most part free money loans will only be on the table till the economy rebounds and then it's back to paying BIG BUCKS to use the corporate and bank loans.

Oh, and that paddle shift. Didn't deal with one until yesterday. Light turns GREEN, i'm first car, 1st gear, step on it, the Corsa's open up, and all the other cars are still back at the light while I'm doing 60, 4 seconds later.
Motorcycle guy gives me the thumbs up three times, and I felt like a frikken rock star.

Hate to disagree Raazor, but that's .....Ive had a car payment since I was 16 years old (37 years)....Half the time I think it gives me motivation to get up and go to work......and like I said before...paying cash for something you can finance at 0% is "friggin' nuts"...
I buy used, always have. Typically, two to three years old. No interest, less depreciation.
Besides, any time 0% financing is offered, they also have the cash option. usually around $4-6K which more than offsets what you save in interest with the 0%. But like I said, I don't buy new.
I currently own three vehicles because I've got a three car garage. All three were purchased used. I would typically drive each one for about three years before swapping them out. However, since none of them has over 15k miles and the current recession, we've decided to keep them longer.
Different strokes for different folks.

Well, that brings up a entire new subject "Never buy NEW equipment"... including cars. 50% depreciation over three years. I'll let other folks eat depreciation for me.

That's why I always buy "leftover new" whenever possible....Full warranty....0% interest...PLUS a substantial discount below MSRP....That's been my experience anyway...Oh, BTW, I always buys "toys" in the winter months...I can always get a dealer to deal when there is snow on the ground

OMG, there is Corvettes
That's like giving a guy 10 21 year old sexy exotic dancers and nymphos to cure a sexual addiction problem.

My wife told me I could buy a vette only if I paid cash, so I did. It feels really good not having a payment especially on a toy. I agree with one of the replies "I do not finance toys". It feels much better while I drive it!

Financed 100% of the Vette purchase with a home equity loan at 2.25%, which is 1.5% after tax. Invested the purchase dollars in Apple stock, which has appreciated 8% year to date. I will take that trade all year long.
