It's a shame we can't have some kind of a rating system. I've ordered some parts from forum vendors for both my C5 and C6 that I would give an A+. Just outstanding service. Others such as an order for wheels that was such a disaster that I wouldn't order a product from them again if they gave it away. It was that bad-I had to by-pass the vendor and go direct to the manufacturer.

I don't know why anyone would accept more risk because a business "is a vendor here". Goes for dealers too.

The post earlier about AMEX is dead on, no one will protect your purchases like they will. I try to never order online from a vendor who won't take AMEX.

If a number of people mention great experiences with particular vendors, that is helpful. But, you have to always beware.

It depends on the site, in the mustang community, SVT Perf is similar. Anything mentioned about a vendor is typically deleted and banning comes quickly.

On Modularfords, really isn't any censorship when it comes to vendors, but of course it's encouraged to try starting out in pm's and such.

I do think blatent bashing shouldn't happen, as alot of times there are 2 sides to every story. A ratings system would be excellent too.

I've dealt with a few of the vendors on here and have yet to be dissapointed with anyone I've actually purchased from. All the experiences have actually been pretty good. I actually got something from a vendor i found here for my mustang just about 2 weeks ago.

If I order from a vendor he's the one responsible.

Understandable, and so far, I personally have respected the forums' rules, however, it's extremely detrimental to this forum when men and women purchase items from vendors that you guys sponsor and then say, "....well, after a few people have been screwed, then we may recognize a pattern of buyer-screwage, then we'll go ahead and "consider" their removal from the forum if we are not subsidized somehow in advance from them." Granted, these are my words interpreted from your posts, but we as Corvette owner's trying to obtain the right stuff, and when it comes to a vendor screwing the people who access your forum for help and guidance, your policies regarding vendor secrecy of protection should be second to us, the buyer! If not, there's something wrong with your picture.

You'd have been better off to send this message to a moderator via a PM rather than posting it in an open thread, trust me.

I don't see why there shouldn't be open outage. A man buys from a vendor, the vendor provides good service. Life goes on. A man buys from another vendor and after repeated attempts to solve the problem by working with the vendor you out them for the public to judge and decide.

What's so wrong with that?
