Intermittant short in driver-door loud-speaker?
Yesterday, I got that loud static/popping/crunching noise you get when a loudspeaker is being connected and disconnected by brushing wires over a power source.
I turned the stereo off (Bose Nav system), but the sound continued, so the short is in the speaker wiring, not the stereo. I was worried it would flatten the battery overnight, but it seemed to stop when the car shut down more of the electrical system.
Next day... it's completely ok. I don't hear any unexpected sounds out of the speaker, music plays fine.
Is this a known issue? Any tips for reproducing it?
I have to take the car for maintenance very soon, which would be perfect timing to get this issue fixed, except that there is currently nothing to fix, and even if they poked around a bit, no way to check whether anything positive was achieved.
What would you do?
How easy is it to get into the door panels and poke around a bit myself?
