Default Brake light associated noise?

I haven't driven my 09 Z06 in a while and I noticed today when I press on the brake I hear a distinct and rather loud click in the center console area, behind the radio is my guess or behind the glove box. The click happens when I step on the brake and again when I release the brake. It is tied to the actual brake lights. Is this normal and I just haven't noticed it before? I only have 1,200 miles on the car.

Its just the relay clicking....

With only 1,200 miles, you haven't had time to get used to anything yet...lol

Thank you. Funny thing I checked my 2010 GS and the relay noise in it is very quiet compared to the Z06.

I seem to remember an issue where they had a batch of loud relays...so if it really bothers you, you could probably get them to replace the relay on warranty, especially if you can show them that it is much worse than the new one...

Z06 uses a lightweight aluminum housing for the relay and the GS/etc.have steel encased relays.

Z06 relays also operate at higher contact pressure and are intercooled.

Not all cars have the clicking noise. My 09 Z06 with 6,300 miles does not click when I depress the brake pedal. Never has.

I have a clicker, '09 Z. It's noticeable but not annoying
