That's where all the fun begins. You buy a Vette and have the best sports car in America! I drove mine for a few months and loved it. Then went for some cosmetic upgrades: grill, side vents, VY add ons, rear spoiler... Loved every minute of it.

Then the speed bug bit: Corsa, headers, then a cam, then a blower... Wow, blew my mind, the power pastes a perma-grin every time you nail it.

Then interior upgrades: color matched console, mats, gauges... Love the look.

Then trick out the engine compartment: full out chrome, K & N, FRC's...

Next: sway bars, meth/water injection, 3.42 gears, tires...

I have never had so much fun!!! Take your time, enjoy the research and the journed. And keep us posted on your results.

No-no my friend. It's better to look good than to feel good!

To answer the OPs question......both of course. It's what mod sickness is all about.

I'm perfectly content with my 2005 coupe's performance. I've put a couple of grand into appearance tweaks, though.

Unfortunately I have been watching videos of Super Chargers, Exhaust, and looking at wheel shots of Vossen Rims sound and looks first, then maybe some muscle.

I definitely know where my preferences lie but I think a lot has to do with how you use the car, what you desire and your financial wherewithal. After 3+ years my car's still a work in-progress. To whatever extent you want, there's no reason you can't do both. Whether you mod your car for track performance or appearance mods for a beauty pageant its all good.

The car has plenty of performance for me. I don't plan to take it to the track. But I do like to personalize the appearance.

Let's see. My mods are:
Homelink
Heads Up
Radar hardwire and mounting
About to drill holes in mufflers
Floor/Cargo Mats
Clear Top

These are definately not performance. Mats and Top are appearance. How do you categories the others?

I put DSVETTES center armrest and door armrest because my elbows would dig into the hard plastic OEM,

OOOh this is happening because I have a COW tune.

So its both for me.

when i finally find the right 06 or 07 i already have my mods planned out.

1) Z06 spyder repros
2) borla stingers or b&b bullets
3) stereo

but if i had to pick just one...i'd go exhaust. the car looks extremely cool already. hard to beat that sound though.

At 400+ horsepower out of the box I would go with an appearance mod to set your car apart from the pack.

From a Dealership perspective you have to determine what is your ultimate hold time for your Vette.
If it is a keeper -- do what ever engine mods you want. If you plan on upgrading to another Vette later, we would like to see as few engine mods as possible. We don't mind - cold air intake, exhaust and tune. But, when you get into the engine, it makes resale for us a bit harder.
From an exterior standpoint -- save original equipment. Sometimes the Vette is worth more going back to stock. Your idea of custom may not be the next buyers idea of what they want.
Todd
