Default Your "Wish List" for the 2011 Corvette!!!

All ideas are welcome. Consider all the parts available on these current Vettes as your parts bin, plus any new ideas, or parts that you can think of. Have at it, what would you like? New seats, a new navigation system, or stereo, a direct injected, 500 + HP LS3 in the GS, the LS7 in the GS? You name, parts are parts.

Default A direct injected, 500 + HP LS3.

a direct injected, 500 + HP LS3, not a 5.5, but the 6.2.
Ford's 5.0 with 412 hp at 6,500 rpm and 390 pound-feet at 4,000 rpm.

I'm 60....chances are you're younger. My wish list is based on what happened to the vette during the first "green" revolution and gasoline price upsurg.....

1/ No hp decrease
2/ No hp decrease
3/ No hp decrease

If you don't understand then line up a test drive in a nice '75 to '80 or '82 vette give or take a few model years.

Then you'll maybe understand that what's on the table now is all about decreases in power not increases.

-Redesign/fix electrical/battery issues
-Find a better stock tire
-Offer F55 on GS w/heavier sways
-Bring back LMB
-Do a unified aluminum frame for all models (maybe a C7 issue) to lighten all models

Well considering the new mustang 5.0 will have 414hp base with better mpg than the last mustang, I doubt GM will do anything, because they are behind the curve in everyway to Ford.....so sad.

I just hope they dont can the entire line or limit production to drive the prices up. I doubt we will see 10k off sticker -- but who knows.

There are some VERY GOOD ideas on the previous posts.

Remote Start, Better Seats, Better Nav unit, Direct Injection are all great. BUT until GM gets out from under Government control and starts spending money on R & D I am afraid we aren't going to see anything.

DUnno about 2011... but when they bring the C7:

1. Smaller cargo space + more leg room for taller people
2. Better seats
3. Remote Start
4. Optional sun/moon roof
5. Better Suspension (don't even care about HP right now)
6. More impressive console/interior look

7. Manual with optional paddle shifters. I love my automatic's paddles but I hate not having a clutch!

Better access. Sat in some European makes and are just easier to exit and enter

It doesn't really matter to me what they offer on the 2011 model because I have a 2010 on order. I wish they had an upgraded brake option available on the Coupe because I definately would have ordered that!

1. Upgrade interior and seats----Bring Back TORCH RED Interior
2. LED Taillights/DLR's, and turn signals in the mirrors
3. New and exclusive steering wheel for the Corvette
4. Upgrade the standard tires to Michelin's.
5. Eliminate the GS Heritage Pkg.....all GS's should Grand Sport stitched into the seats. Forget the Hash Marks...make them an option ordered from Parts if you want them.

Your not that much older, and I remember very well. Everything was great until 1970, and then it was over. The '71, and '72 lost HP, and in 1973 the Vette lost it's style too, with it's 5 mph front bumper. I lost all interest in new Vettes until around '87 with the Callaway twin turbo, and then the factory ZR-1 in '90, both of which were way out of my price range, and I never liked the styling of the C4 anyway. It took until '97, and the C5, LS1 to get my interest back for the Corvette, and even then I thought the Camaro was a better choice. It wasn't until the LS7 that Chevy had a better production power plant than my '69, 427, but then again, at a very high price. The '08 LS3 got me into another Vette. To me, price to performance matters. I can walk around a Good Guy's show, and buy a whole lot of toy car for $50K in cash. A new Vette over $50k makes a loaded CTS-V look like a screaming deal to me.

1. Better seats, better seats, better seats
2. Doors that don't look like they were made by rubber maid
3. Speakers that don't rattle in the rubber maid doors
4. Hard top roof otpion for standard coupe or re-design the targa top to not rattle and pop
5. Better looking steering wheel
6. No price increase (can eliminate 1-5 above if this option is selected)
