I use the same kind of hanger, also available from Ecklers. Works great. Beware the GM storage bag unless you wrap the top in a sheet before putting it in the bag.

I am still trying to figure out why anyone would spend the extra cash for a second top that just lays around collecting dust. Just my .02 worth.

The dual roofs are a terrific option. You can change the look and feel of the car in matter of seconds with a roof change. Depending on color it can make a dramatic change in the exterior appearance. On the interior it make for a big difference between a more enclosed versus a more open feel depending upon whether your using the solid top or the transparent top.

From the C5 thru C6 generations, I am now on my 6th coupe, every one of them ordered with the dual roof option. The only way to go IMO.

You get better insulation with the painted top and cuts down outside noise better.

I have a storage bag that I put the top I'm not using in at the time in which can also fit in back of coupe with bag on. (I have never stored top in back).
I leave the top in bag and put it in the bedroom closet out of sight and mind.

My glass top sat for three years since it was last on the car. I've ordered both tops for my Corvettes since 1991. I used to enjoy changing the look of the car. The novelty has worn off. The next Corvette will only have a painted top.

Actually I don't change tops that much maybe twice a year summer and winter. I too can go with a fixed roof as the painted top is very heavy plus whenever you move tops around there is a high chance that you will scratch them or your car when putting them on. For some reason also when the top is removed my rear view mirror goes blank like a mirror. I can't see anything behind me.

Under the bed works great (and it keeps my wife from sticking her shoes there)

I wrapped my painted top in a blanket, inside a plastic lawn bag, in my basement. Haven't touched it in 49 months.

Bought the Bag from Fichtner Chevrolet and put the roof in the bag and then in the box the clear roof came in (we bought it later). Then we store it in the garage.
