Argued with mustang guy
I actually had to argue with my sons friend the other day! He didn't believe the 07 mustang GT had basically the same rear suspension as a 1979 mustang. I know i had a new 79 stang. He looked at the rear suspension under my car said "No comparison to his stang" He shut his mouth and said he is going to save some bucks sell his stang and get a used 05-07 Vette by JUNE "Go FIGURE". Get guys to look under there mustang then look under a high tech chev and it will stop there ramblings in mid sentence and will change everything they know about vettes.NO MORE OLD MANS CAR comments from home boy or his buddies.

That OLD MAN CAR thing always makes me laugh. Lets face facts. Most high end cars are purchased by the 35 and up crowd . Thats, Porsche's, Corvettes , Ferrari, Maserati , Shelby etc. A 19 year old kid would think someone 30yrs is old.

I'm amazed that Ford has steadfast refused to update that suspension setup! The GT500 is not an inexpensive car yet uses a handling setup from the Flintstones. I think that most Mustang people simply don't care about decent handling it's all about straight line speed and looks...
Did I mention I test drove a GT500 at Limerock road coarse and the handling is absolutely hideous compared to a stock vette.... It's something that Ford really ought to update for the 21st century!

Sounds like your typical ford guy they swear the ford is the best car ever made, I think they put something in the water at those ford guys houses, brainwashed.
Everytime I bought a ford I was disapointed, not that I bought many, but I did love my 47 ford pickup, I give them that one, if they started makeing those again I might buy one.

My 1979 mustang was a piece of c^&p. Last ford i owned.Traded it in on 1981 Olds Cutlass. Now that was a great car. I still search ebay tryng to find a very low mileage 81-84 calais with t-tops.

True, but the average vette owner is 45+. not sure why. Viper for example attracts a younger crowd. Oh well......but then who cares..

One of my buddies who owned an 02' Mustang GT with basic mods like headers and exhaust said his car sounded better than my C6Z with a cam and headers back

So the corvette has been using the leaf spring since 1963 as part of the suspension set up. The leaf spring dates back to medieval time. Not exactly an example of modern day technology.

Shouldn't be so hard on the Mustang guys. My wife had a 78 Mustang II when we got married. 4-speed, 4-cylinder, Pinto in disguise. Just look what strides they made in one year!
