Default 2005 Vert....wind noise?

I am considering buying a 2005 convertible....how is the wind noise? I currently have an 06 BMW Z4 and the wind noise is minimal but my wife has an 05 350z and the wind noise is quite apparent.

Is there good sound insulation?

Mine is very good....and the Vert is quieter inside than the coupe anyway (with top up)

The car is very aerodynamic, so the majority of the noise inside comes from the rear tire road noise in the coupe. The Vert has the trunk blocked off so as to minimize this.

Is it quiet enough for me to have a bluetooth kit installed and still have the other end be able to hear me (Top up)?

Mine is also very quiet with the top up and I was recently told that the verts are actually quieter than coupes. This makes sense because the trunk is seperated from the interior.

I don't know why not. It is much quieter than my company van. Take it for a test drive.

I personally don't understand why anyone would want to talk on the phone while driving one of these. I would rather enjoy the drive.

Top down is not bad, don't waste money on a wind screen I doesn't do a whole lot. Mine sits in the bag. I've driven the coupe and vert, aftermarket exausts are more tolerable in the vert. I don't care what anyone says, THEY ALL RATTLE

Top is supposed to be down anyway...

but yes, it's very quiet inside with the top up. And like every other vert out there, it'll rattle and annoy you to know end until you figure out what's causing it and either decide to live with it or come up with a fix.

I like my current ride 100% better than the 01 vert I previously had. It's a much more solid car.

By far the quietest convertible I've ever been in and considerably quieter than the coupe as the tranny and exhaust noise are better isolated from the cabin in the vert.

70K miles on mine and no rattles. Top still seals tight.

Top up, "Leak" noise at the side windows and A and C pillar is a non-issue and you can use the hand free phone up to any speed.

Top down, in town you can use a hands free phone. Highway it does not work so well. Highway conversation at 65 MPH no issue.

Bottomline - wind noise and turbulance are non-issues.

The wind blockers like VetteNet do make driver/passenger conversations and cell phone conversations easier to hear with the top down.
